David Diehl has surgery on right knee

David Diehl started just nine games for the New York Giants at right tackle last year as an injured right knee limited him throughout the season.

Diehl sprained the MCL in his right knee in Week 3 and missed three games with the injury before easing back into the lineup. It took another two weeks before he regained his starting job. According to Ralph Vacchiano of the New York Daily News, Diehl recently had surgery on his right knee and has been going through rehab work at the Giants practice facility.

Diehl is expected to be healthy in time for training camp. Whether that will still be with the Giants remains a question mark.

Should have been cut last year when he was arrested for driving drunk and hitting a bunch of parked cars.

With his status as up in the air as it was, the doctor cutting his knee is almost guaranteed to result in the team cutting him. Do you want to pay a part time lineman with bad production, or Victor Cruz?

    Please cut him already.
