Getty ImagesThe Jaguars released offensive tackle Guy Whimper, quarterback John Parker Wilson and defensive back Brandon King, the club announced Wednesday.
Whimper, 29, was primarily a reserve in 2012 for Jacksonville. He started six games, four at right tackle. The previous season, Whimper made 15 starts at right tackle for the Jaguars. The 6-foot-5, 315-pound Whimper has made 22 career starts, all with Jacksonville. He could appeal to clubs looking for veteran tackle depth.
King and Wilson had signed futures contracts with the Jaguars on Dec. 31. Both had stints on the club’s practice squad a season ago. Previously, Wilson was a backup in Atlanta (2010-12), with King seeing game action as a reserve with Indianapolis in 2010 and 2011.

I guess he went out on a whimper.
Guy Whimper? lol
Darn it Doe, beat me to it.
Amazing he made it all the way to the NFL with a name like that. Then again the ridicule he probably got his whole life probably made him tough as nails.
Sad day. Defensive ends he hardly knew ya.
The new guy gets to break the big story.
Who’s next?
If Caldwell replaces him with a scarecrow, it’d be an upgrade.
Giants prob sign Whimper tonight for vet minimum.
They should just dump the entire roster and start over again.
Eagles could have traded a Bell for a Whimper.
I expect them to use the roster spot to sign Guy Strong
