The Jaguars released offensive tackle Guy Whimper, quarterback John Parker Wilson and defensive back Brandon King, the club announced Wednesday.

Whimper, 29, was primarily a reserve in 2012 for Jacksonville. He started six games, four at right tackle. The previous season, Whimper made 15 starts at right tackle for the Jaguars. The 6-foot-5, 315-pound Whimper has made 22 career starts, all with Jacksonville. He could appeal to clubs looking for veteran tackle depth.

King and Wilson had signed futures contracts with the Jaguars on Dec. 31. Both had stints on the club’s practice squad a season ago. Previously, Wilson was a backup in Atlanta (2010-12), with King seeing game action as a reserve with Indianapolis in 2010 and 2011.
