The teams don’t care about concussions they just want the players back on the field no matter what.

A fine example of that was the final week of the regular season last year Dolphins-Pats game.

Fins QB Tannehill was hammered all game long with 7 sacks and numerous other hits.

At one point Tannehill was slammed and after sitting on the ground tried to get back up but got about halfway and then just plopped right back down. When he did get up a few seconds later he was clearly staggering to one side and not walking properly.

If there was any more obvious situation to perform the concussion check protocol I’ve never seen one. I don’t think he was even out for one play, just right back out to get sacked again on the next, 3rd down, play.

This has “correct-answer training” written all over it; so as to avoid failing the test. It just may help, but the truth is that a non-influenced (payola) physician on the sidelines is the players best bet. Afterall, we are talking about a player base that often struggles with a simple Wonderlic test; so a good portion may likely fail this new testing just by default.

It’s all about winning by any means necessary, no way all teams will follow concussion procedures; I’ve seen it too many times where a player runs to the lockerroom and 10min later, he’s back in the game.
