ProFootballTalk: Is cutting Brees a possibility?

The Saints are currently operating over the cap, and the PFT guys wonder if Jerrod Bushrod will become its next victim. Drew Brees‘ contract may be the best way to remedy their situation, but will it come at the cost of cutting their QB?

    Is cutting Brees a possibility?
If they want to go 4-12 to an empty Superdome, sure, it’s totally a possibility.

If you think the Saints cut Brees your crazy. Possibly restructure his contract yes. They cut Brees they go back to being a team that sucks. After coming this far they don’t plan on looking or going back to what they once were

Good thing he bent them over for every last nickel when he already had more money then he’ll ever spend.

It’s a real shame that the Saint’s QB isn’t more team oriented. Brees could go a long way to helping his team get back to the Super Bowl if he wasn’t so greedy.

What a great idea! So you will have no problem agreeing to take a salary for less than what you could get somewhere else to ensure that your company can increase profits and get an advantage on the competition correct?

Breed ain’t goin nowhere..just restructure his deal like every other QB this year is doing..now if he refuses that then you can call him greedy. But who wouldn’t want a Lump sum today? its better then waitn for tomarrow..its guaranteed..tomarrow isn’t

Well that was full of uninformed dribble. Saints drafted Cam Jordan as a pass rusher?

Losing Carl Nicks will hurt even more. Ummmm… in case you didn’t notice Grubbs had a better 2012 than Nicks.

Roger Goodell admitting that he was wrong is a much more likely possibility.
