The Dolphins were No. 26 in passing yards in 2012, and the development of second-year QB Ryan Tannehill is key to the club’s future.

Not surprisingly, wide receiver looks to be an offseason priority for the Dolphins.

According to Ben Volin of The Palm Beach Post, who quoted a league source, the Dolphins were “active in meetings” with free-agent wide receivers at the Combine.

The wide receivers who interest the Dolphins are unknown. Packers wide receiver Greg Jennings has long been regarded as a potential fit for Miami, but Green Bay could potentially use the franchise tag on the wideout. Jennings, the Steelers’ Mike Wallace, the Chiefs’ Dwayne Bowe and the Patriots’ Wes Welker are among the best wide receivers who could test unrestricted free agency.

The Dolphins’ top wide receiver, Brian Hartline, is also slated to become an unrestricted free agent, and the club has reportedly shown an interest in bringing him back.
