Try a little reading comprehension ….

“That creates $5.34375 million in cap space in 2013, pushing that money, in increments of $1.78125 million, into 2014, 2015, and 2016.”

So instead of it costing the Steelers $7.875 million this year in cap, it is only going to be a cost of $2,531,250 against the cap.
