As a huge Card fan I take exception to AS’s tweets…..
It is very tough to be a “great leader” when you do not actually play in the game with the team you so call lead.

Snyder is a classy guy but an average (not terrible) guard. Nice to see him sticking up for a disenfranchised QB. He has experience in that regard, trying to protect Alex Smith for years.

Kolb will be back if he restructures his contract with a pay cut else the Cards will let him go. Cards also need to use an early round picks on a qb to develop.

I still say Kolb can be a great QB. He’s had no consistent playing time and is constantly under threat of losing his starting job for reasons unrelated to his performance. He needs time and something around him. I’m telling you Cardinals fans, you should be lobbying to have him be the starter in week one.

His stats thru the games he played were not very bad at all and the team was winning. He was almost 60% comp and had 8 TD’s with 2 picks in 6 games played. And the biggest thing is he knows where his bread is butter….Fitzgerald had 430 of his 798 yards and 3 of his 4 TD’s when Kolb was playing.

Of course the biggest thing is staying healthy and they need a plan if he does get hurt again but I don’t think the guy should just be written off by the team and the media.

Besides, what other option is really that great? Cassell?

Reality is that Kolb was productive enough to win with a good defense and a very bad OL – but he was far from great. But he was injuried again and while I think he can be good with a good OL, he has to be able to stay healthy even when hit less. But they have to draft someone to develop within the first 2-3 rounds – Hoyer might be an OK veteran back-up. And fix that OL – the guards Snyder and Colledge might be the worst parts, since Levi Brown was playing very well in 2011 and the two rookies improved a ton.

Draft a franchise LT at 7. Fisher or Lane Johnson. Then bring in a QB in the 2nd or 3rd and let him and Kolb battle it out in training camp.

The problem with Kolb is he’s one of the most injury prone QBs in the league. He played well last year. I’d like to see him get another chance, but Arizona needs a better backup plan barring another Kolb injury.

uhhh I dont get it? so he beats the pats in ne, has a great start and posts great numbers. then he gets hurt and sits the season all the sudden the cards have nada at the qb position??? he seems like a fine fit to me just give him a chance sheesh

So the worst offensive lineman on the Cards (who have one of the worst offensive lines in the league) supports Kolb. Hey Adam, shouldn’t you be worried about your own job?

Snyder is overlooking the fact that Kolb has played less than 50% of the games he was signed to play because he is always injured. I’m sure Kolb is a great guy but the fact remains that the team needs a QB who is durable and who will provide some consistency, in addition to being able to avoid being sacked and getting the ball downfield to his elite receiver. Kolb is missing an important quality and that is being hearty and fit. This is a business and employees have to be able to show up and perform the job they were hired to do. Excessive absence or sick days is grounds for dismissal.
