Ozzie knows Joe isn’t worth 20 million a year, the entire football world knows it too. If the Ravens want to be in the mix every year he needs to take around 13-14 million per year. Then they can sign their free agents and get some more play makers on the team.

If Joe doesn’t like the deal, franchise tag him and call it day till next year.

Flacco should give half his pay to his WRs, who were the only reason he looked good in the playoffs.

Without their effort and plucking his chuck and pray passes, the Ravens would have been heading home from Denver.

Flacco’s agent needs to get off his you know what and get the deal done. Does anybody here think he’s making Joe hold out until he can squeeze every dime out of the Ravens Brass??? Agents also care about their own pocket which is clearly causing a problem with them holding out so long…The Flacco deal being one of them.

It’s not just Ravens fans that trash the Skins. It’s the entire NFL fanbase laughing at them on a consistent basis. But in the event you’re not local, I’ll explain the issue- when Baltimore was without a football team, most people jumped ship and ran to the Skins fanbase (hmmm…kinda like how Baltimore has no hockey team so they support the closest thing, right?). 96 rolled around and Baltimore had the Ravens. People who have pride in their local team immediately dropped whatever team they followed (if any) and supported their local team. HOWEVER- there was a mass following of Skins fans that live ridiculously closer to Baltimore than DC, who refused to support their local team. So in the eyes of Ravens fans? They’re bandwagon. They left Baltimore when we lost a team which is understandable, but do not root for your own home team, and would rather enjoy watching the Skins suck it up for years under an owner who is the laughing stock of the NFL.

THAT is why Ravens fans trash Skins fans.

LOL, Very True, but that’s usually because we respond to the Redskins’ fans trash talking. I don’t personally dislike the Redskins, but as soon as Redskins are semi decent, many fans go over the top and for some reason feel the need to disrespect the Ravens.

Why is that? Baltimore doesn’t have a hockey team and I’ve been going to Caps games since Rod Langway’s sexy Gordon Gecko hair. You probably first heard of the Caps once Ovi got drafted like most of the yups down there.

The best part about Flacco’s new contract is all the Ravens fans trying to justify it, while other fans are rooting for him to get paid as much as possible.

Just shows you how big of a hack he is. He’ll get paid the biggest contract in the league and every other team will laugh.

Flacco takes heat for doing what Peyton has done in the past as well? Oh how quick we forget the Drew Brees hold out to make 20 mil last year… And lastly Brady took less per year but got a 30 mil signing bonus with another 20 guranteed so he kind of didnt … Bradford got 50 mil guranteed too

I didn’t mind Flacco too much until I saw a few of his post super bowl interviews. The guy comes across as the ultimate jerk.

The only plus is he fluffed off ray lewis and all that jesus talk of his along with winning the SB for ray. So, he gets a few points for that.

Its not like this is some new revelation. This is new contract, not an extension to free cap space, and it is coming off a strong Ravens season and a record breaking (yes its true haters) start to Flacco’s career.

Like I said a million times over- it doesn’t matter. You take care of Flacco first and foremost. A Superbowl winning QB in his prime who seems to have rejuvenated his career with a new OC in Caldwell is a million times more valuable than any of the other moving parts in Baltimore. It’s safe to say we’ll lose Cary Williams and Paul Kruger to FA. Which is fine- they’re both overrated players that we already have replacements for. McKinnie wants to stay and has said he will not be playing in FA. Stays? Great. Goes? Draft a LT. Q wants to stay, and needs to restrucutre. If not? Not a HUGE loss- he has 2 serviceable years left in the league, and we have talent waiting in the wings (Tommy Streeter I’m looking at you!) to step in next year at WR. The ONLY player that needs to be locked up outside of Joe is Ellerbe. He’s a huge part of this D, and needs to stay put. Luckily he’s already expressed his desire to stay. If we get Joe and Ellerbe locked up? That’s all I care about. The rest can go, and we’ll simply plug and play like we have for the entire Harbaugh era in Baltimore. A return of a healthy Webb will help thhe secondary next year, along with the emergence of Art Jones & McPhee at the line. Upshaw with a full season under his belt will step up for Kruger. All in all, this team is in great shape.

Other than Flacco I think Kruger should be more of a priority, Ellerbe is a very good 3 down LB but pass rushers are like gold & difficult to come by. Upshaw looks tough against the run but I have doubts that he’ll be able to generate the rush that Kruger does.
