Josh Morgan’s had three surgeries this offseason

Last month, Redskins wide receiver Josh Morgan tweeted a photo of himself in bed with a cast on his right leg after having surgery.

It’s not the only time that Morgan’s found himself in an operating room since the end of the season. There are no post-op pictures from the other surgeries, perhaps because they were on Morgan’s hands and he wasn’t able to snap the picture and/or send the tweet.

Tarik El-Bashir of CSNWashington.com caught up with Morgan on Wednesday and found out that he had surgery to repair ligaments in each hand after suffering injuries at two different points over the course of the season. Those injuries caused him fewer visible problems than the leg issue, which resulted in Morgan having a plate and seven screws removed from his foot after they were inserted to help him recover from 2011′s broken leg and ankle.

“I think it will be a lot better,” Morgan said. “That was the whole reason for doing it right after the season, so we could rehab. I think it’s going to be a lot more fun this year, more pain free.”

Morgan isn’t sure when he’ll be cleared to start running and doing football work or if he’ll be ready for the start of OTAs. Until then, he’ll be rehabbing at the team’s facility with the guy who throws him passes in hopes that both will be 100 percent when it’s time to start playing games again.

Imagine if all of Morgan’s surgeries got the same attention as Griffin’s single surgery: PFT would be totally unreadable.

“Good luck winning next year without Josh MorgHAND”
“Josh morgan, more liked Josh mIRgan. Ha, I’m so witty and original.”

Not exactly living up to the $6mil per year salary numbers-wise, but this guy seems to get it. Local kid, tough guy, good blocker, unassuming, and decent contributor…. Good signing Bruce.

Despite being all banged up last year he was solid. Hopefully he can build on last year and really take off now that he should be much closer to 100%.

He’s not a $6mil a year guy, but I’m still glad he’s on the team. Seems to go out and give it 100% every week.
