I think someone mustve cut Idzik off and didn’t let him finish his answer. Pretty sure if they’d let him finish he would’ve said “Darrelle is a very valued player on our team. Our focus is squarely on getting him healthy, getting him back to his level of play so we can trade him and his holdouts to another planet.”

to all u NE homers there is absolutely 0% chance that Revis ever puts on a Patriot uniform. He hates Belicheck, he hates Brady and they don’t like him very much either. There is as likely of a chance of that happening as Tom Brady suiting up for the Jets for the last year or two of his career. Keep dreaming you boston homers

Getting Revis healthy is our focus…. Because then we can trade him for a high pick.

If they don’t trade him, he will be in NE next year. They know it.

Rex isn’t running the show anymore, that’s for sure, even if he lushes about how much he loves Revis, he will still be playing elsewhere next year.

Love this GM. Seems like the Jets finally have a guy who understands the business end of the game. Already cut dead weight and saved money now looking at the Revis situation closely instead of acting too quickly.

I know its early but John is already doing a good job in my book. I mean he had to replace Mike T. who really set this team back.

I read that Revis’ contract says that he cannot be franchised tagged when the deal voids after 2013. So if the Jets have to hold on to Revis through 2013 and then he leaves as a free agent, the most the Jets could get back would be a 3rd round compensatory pick.

The 49ers were in a similar boat with Alex Smith, but he had an extra year on his contract and wasn’t coming off a torn ACL. In that light I suspect Revis could be had for as little as a 3rd rounder . . the only bugaboo is trade competition for Revis from other franchises.

He tore is ACL in week 3 . . . I wouldn’t be against the 49ers rolling the dice on that for the value of his contract and a 3rd rounder . . . plus maybe a late round sweetener.

Revis doesn’t seem like he will be happy regardless of the conditions.

I do think that if the Jets want to do what is best for the team long term they will move on without him.

People have gone careers without holding out as much as he has.

I also believe that players coming off an injury wanting to get paid usually means they are worried rehab isn’t going as well. Kind of like Javon Walker from GB a few years ago.

I hope the Jets do a good job on his injury rehab so he’s fully healthy and ready to play for the Patriots in 2014

Revis wants out badly and now is the time for the Jets to cash in. They need to rebuild more than retool so keeping Revis does little. Increase your picks and build for the future. I doubt the 9ers will trade for Revis, but if I were the Jets that’s where I’d start.
