Getty ImagesArian Foster, the Houston Texans running back who has used Twitter to display the results of his MRI and to publish bulletin-board material to fire up his teammates, says he’s getting off social media.
Foster wrote on Monday that he has decided to leave Twitter behind because it’s “Time for me to leave the digital realm.”
It's been fun, twitter! Time for me to leave the digital realm. Be the light you want to see on the earth. Peace.

Foster’s best-known tweet came when he posted an image of his MRI and described the injury in his hamstring by writing that the “white stuff surrounding the muscle is known in the medical world as anti-awesomeness.” Foster also announced on Twitter before training camp last year that he was becoming a vegan, and turned his Twitter profile into a locker room bulletin board by using it to publicize the negative comments from a Boston columnist about the Texans’ chances against the Patriots.

This guy once posted his X-Ray pictures on Twitter.
He’ll be back… I guarantee it!
I’ll miss his quasi-spiritual tweets that he sends out where he intentionally tries to show his smarts in 140 characters or less.
That is really too bad, I enjoyed reading his tweets, he seemed like a really interesting guy and I thought he used his platform well to start interesting discussions beyond the game of football. I hope he becomes inspired to start it again someday.
The whole world should quit Twitter.
As Tyson would say, don’t be a twitter.
Um, whatever. Just do what A-Rod does, no tweets in season. #loser
He’s quitting twitter because he got schooled by his followers after tweeting “Nothing in science can be proven”.
Good role model there with ARod. Yes just do what he does, HGH, steroids, lie, cheat, choke. Did I leave anything out?
No pro athlete should do twitter. They end up looking drunk and stupid while they’re being drunk and stupid. Teams should put it in their contracts: NO twitter.
Kind of the same way he quit meat? Got it.
“No Mr. Foster, please don’t go!”
-Precisely what he wants
Grown men social media sites????? Sad
Twitter is the worst thing that’s happened to this country in a long long time. It’s awful.
Hey, Arian, you’re trending. Quick, check it out.
He also told Jay Mohr that if he could play for another team it would be the Raiders, and that his favorite Wu-Tang member was The Gza. My kinda guy!
