I agree with him. Tillman was the best corner last season. I’ve said it here several times and every time crybaby Seahags fans like themackstrong get all angry and tell me I don’t know anything about football. Well, I believe Revis may know a little more about football than you guys think you do so I’m going to go with him on this one.

Revis is correct about two things; he is no doubt still the best CB in the game today and Charles Tillman was the best CB in the game last season. Sherman is a drug cheat who got lucky and skated on that charge last season. He’ll be more careful in the future, but not so lucky the next time. If or when teams are afraid to throw in Sherman’s direction as they avoid doing with Revis & Tillman, then Sherman can start to consider himself an elite CB. If teams dared to throw to Revis or Tillman’s side of the field, then they would be racking up a dozen interceptions a year. Sherman is the best at the me first big mouth game though, no doubt on that one. If he were as good as he thinks then maybe he would have been a factor against the Falcons. FACT is the Seagulls didn’t even get by the Divisional Round and Sherman got burned in the process of getting sent home early.

You have to be on the field to be the best. Get on the field, and quit jumping up and down for a new contract every season. Its a distraction. Good skills but kindve a cancer in my opinion.

Why not. At the end of the day, he’s been the best shutdown corner for the last few years. Until we see where he is after his surgery, I’m not inclined to cede his title either.

If Sherman can keep his skill up and maintain that level for the next several years (possibly without drugs?), then maybe we’ll have a discussion.

Revis is league’s best cornerback…at holding WR’s and getting away with it.

I’m stuck watching more NY Jet football than any non-Jet fan would. And Revis is a very good football player, to a point.

He’s gotten burned quite a few times in the past few seasons. And he constantly holds receivers past the allowed 5 yd mark.

Bottom line: If he’s the best, where is his DPOY award???

Revis is a GREAT DB, probably the best in the league and arguably the best shut down corner since Prime Time. However, I would not want this guy on my team. He holds out every 2 years demanding more money, he is a distraction and is selfish. All this guy cares about is Revis, I understand the shelf life of an NFL player is limited, so get paid when you can, but this guy thinks that he deserves to get a new contract every other year! Again, great player, but I would rather have guys that want to be a part of a team, not that think they are bigger than the team

They avg a difference of 4 targets per season..AGAIN Poor argument for Sherman having a major statistical advantage, simply an ignorant comment

To anyone saying Revis isn’t thrown at, look at those targets before you say that because it simply not true in comparing these two. AVG 1 more pass attempt every 4 games is essentially perfectly equal!

Sherman was respectful of Revis until he randomly called him a girl. Facts first please! then Sherman threw the stats comment out their not before or to justify himself at the time.

Also Sherman was on TV when asked to list his top CB’s in the nfl today he said Hayden, Tillman, Browner, Morris and himself.
Didn’t come straight out and proclaim he was the best and was asked where Revis was?

He then said any other year Revis would have been on that list but because he was injured and didn’t play he couldn’t put him on it. Just wouldn’t make sense.

That’s it, that’s all!! But Revis took it up the butt and sprained something and went after Sherman, to which Sherman threw the stats dagger which CAN NOT BE EXPLAINED by any logical person apparently. Lol

Not sure or care whose better. They both are good, just one is far younger in CB years and makes Like 500k a year from a rookie deal.
While the other constantly holds out and calls out coaches and Gms in the media all the while selfishly proclaiming to be the best player on the team throwing every one of his team mates under the bus.
He took a step back in this interview after gaining a bit of perspective which should have tarnished his ego when he inexplicably went off but chose to do so on an player many fans and media dislike due to his demeanor!

he has to tell everybody everyday how good he is because nobody believes it this dude and his look at me act is beyond played out if this was TO saying how he wanted more money everyday and how good he is people would be furious but this one hit wonder got so much hype people still believe this trash but don’t worry real football fans this trend is dying quickly the media can only make someone average seem good for so long

People talking like Sherman has only done this a year- he came in and had a great rookie year- 4 ints and 17 passes defensed which was solid. His height-speed-ball hawking-coverage ability & the fact he is getting better I know Seattle fans wouldn’t trade him for any CB playing today. Revis was without a doubt the best at the position but not everybody AD’s back from an ACL injury. The talk of Tillman having the best year- the dude is not even the best cover corner on his team. I can name 5 CB’s in NFC that are better including his teammate.

He is good. Whether or not he is the best is debatable. He gets away with a ton of holds and illegal contact. His injury should knock him down the ladder a bit until he proves himself capable again. Regardless, he is not worth the money he thinks he is.

I like what Revis said, Sherman had a great year but you need to do it over a long period of time. Alot of players have had one great season and never did anything after that.

Honestly I’m not even a jets fan, buts it’s revis & it’s not even close. It’s funny how the only year that any other corner is considered better just so happens to be the one yr revis gets hurt. When dude(sherman) does things like shut an elite receiver down in a playoff gm & holds them to 1 catch for 1 yard then dude can talk. Most of you should try pro football focus before saying Sherman is even in the same lg as revis.

Sorry but one season of success will not overtake a guy who has done it for some years. Those who say stevie johnson ‘owns’ him;he has averaged 70 yards and one td in the last two match ups with revis. You know a guy is the best when thats considered been ‘owned’

This is a pretty big guy for what appears to be a little girl emotionally. I’d be celebrating if I were traded from the Jets. People get traded every year. The Jets are rebuilding. You’re making a ton of loot. You’re never satisfied with your contract. I don’t see why you’re so shocked/upset they’re considering trading you.
