Getty ImagesThe Baltimore Ravens has shown their gratitude to their Super Bowl-winning quarterback by giving him a six-year, $120.6 million contract.
The Ravens plan a gesture for New Orleans that likely will be somewhat less costly.
The team has announced that, at a press conference to be conducted on Wednesday, the Ravens will “present Mayor Mitch Landrieu and Police Superintendent Ronal Serpas with a generous gift.”
The presentation will be made by Ravens receiver, New Orleans native, and Dancing With The Stars contestant Jacoby Jones.
The specific nature of the gift isn’t yet known. Possibilities include crab cakes, or a leg lamp.

Definition of class. So proud of this franchise. World Champions!
Well a leg lamp is a no brainer…because its…you know…a major award.
You think the Steelers would do something like this? Never in a million years.
Probably going to give them super bowl rings too
Perhaps the gift is the right to build new franchises of Flacco Cakes, makers of America’s finest “Crab Cakes for Champions”. That contract won’t pay for itself, at least not as well with a little help from some friendly business partners.
50% discount to all community service workers too. It’s all about giving back to the community in the end.
A new relay for the Superdome?
Please god let it be the leg lamp.
A new power line?
“…It must be Italian”
Class move. Thank you, Ravens
Leg lamp.
Good stuff, Florio.
“Fra-Geeil-Ly”
They should probably send Rahim Moore a little something as well.
Hopefully the leg lamp will be battery operated.
Great job Ravens, but they are acting like no one has ever won a super bowl before. Especially that they haven’t (which of course they have). Score the TD then hand the ball to the ref. Score again, repeat.
I’d take the leg lamp.
It’s a major award, you know.
As a NOLA resident, I throughly enjoyed meeting and interacting with the fans from Baltimore. They were really cool, plus we got to rag on The Steelers
They also recently gave a generous gift to Pittsburgh, Cincinnati, and Cleveland. Wasted $120M to ensure mediocrity.
Number of playoff wins over the last two years for the Steelers, Bengals and Browns combined? ZERO
The Ravens need to give the gift to the refs (especially on that last drive) not New Orleans.
Steeler fan complaining about a team needing the refs in order to secure a Superbowl win ?
After superbowl 40 – steeler fans have no right to complain about the officials ….ever.
they should give em a gift, the whole stadium was decorated with purple and giant pics of ravens players all around the dome. it was rather odd.
A new electrical grid?
Those are both good presents
A generator!
The Baltimore Ravens are the best organization in football today. Bar none.
hey crown…the steelers will be lucky to even see mediocrity any time soon. enjoy looking up in the standings at the other teams in the division
real smart scoobie, the Steelers were just 8-8, mediocre.
“The presentation will be made by Ravens receiver, New Orleans native, real MVP of the Super Bowl and Dancing With The Stars contestant Jacoby Jones.”
There, fixed it for you.
