Ravens donate two motorcycles to New Orleans police department

The Ravens have decided to show gratitude to New Orleans with a gift.

And the gift, we’re told, is a pair of 2013 Harley Davidson FLHP motorcycles, donated by the team to the New Orleans Police Department Traffic Division.

The announcement will be made by receiver Jacoby Jones at a Wednesday morning press conference.

The Ravens also have purchased an advertisement in the New Orleans Times-Picayune expressing thanks “to the citizens of New Orleans, including your outstanding police department, for your warm reception and first-class service to Ravens players, coaches and fans.”

It’s a unprecedented gesture by the Super Bowl-winning team to the host city, and we have a feeling it will become a trend.

Especially if the Ravens can repeat.

Another reason why Steve Bisciotti is one of, if not the, best owners in the NFL.

Can’t argue with that. Much better than what Ray Lewis did for Atlanta.

Back at ya Baltimore! Nothing but class from an outstanding city and organization.

Had the Ravens won in Indy last year, they would have sent two burning bags of dog poo to Irsay’s front door. In all seriousness though, nice gesture. The people who help facilitate the event don’t usually get the credit they deserve. Surprised this wasn’t a tradition already.

    Let the rumors start now…..

Which Ravens player did something against the law the NO Police swept it under the rug?

Classy move by a class organization, and I’m proud of it giving something back. New Orleans did a fantastic job of hosting the Super Bowl! The people there couldn’t have been nicer!

  27. camdenyard says: Mar 6, 2013 9:29 AM

Nor a surprise. The Ravens organization epitomizes class from top to bottow.

I was in New Orleans for the Super Bowl and came away as awed as Steve Bisciotti did. That is a fantastic place to hold this event. They should hold it there every 3-4 years.

  28. joey49er says: Mar 6, 2013 9:30 AM

It was part of the deal for the refs for all the bad calls they made helping to beat the niners. Lol

Typical Stevie B. Class guy. Hubby and I had tickets to the Super Bowl and went to New Orleans. What an amazing, vibrant city filled with great people. I had a blast and will be back to visit again! Thanks for your amazing hospitality, NOLA!

Totally agree although it is a big improvement over their usual lingo of “Haters” and “Hate on Haters”

Payoff. They should have been donated to the Atlanta PD.

Not bad, considering the Steelers have been to 8 super bowls and won’t buy those cities a hotdog cooker.

Love the Ravens, very classy organization…in & out of Baltimore.

  39. packeye says: Mar 6, 2013 2:19 PM

Class Act organization. Ozzie Newsome is one of the best at what he does all around.

  40. taddow6733 says: Mar 6, 2013 4:22 PM

Very classy move by a classy organization. Always great to show gratitude in a way that hasn’t been demonstrated before. It would be a great move for the sport if the trend continued but when you’re the first to do it, it can never be looked at as a trite gesture or simply “tradition”. Great people and great teams do what they think is right, regardless of what others do or have traditionally done. Well done Ravens.
