He’s had one to many arm surgeries, plus the knee, plus the back. So he’s fine now,(says every yr) so what happens 3rd game into the season, he’s injured again(DL). The Dolphins don’t wanna gamble 60mil of on long, not with Jonathan Martin doing a good job.
The #1 pick of the draft is no longer the #1 pick.

Great the first couple of years, not so great the last couple of years.
WARNING: Jake Long said last year he was 100% healthy and “felt better than he has felt in years”. He ended last season on IR (for the second year in a row). Now he is saying the same thing all over again. Long is asking for more than he has proven he is worth.
I applaud our FO for not just handing him a cap-debilitating contract.

He got abused a lot last year in pass protection and it’s fine for him to say it’s because he was hurt but he can’t expect a team to invest long term in him at big dollars until they see him play a full season healthy and at a pre-2011 level. There are other Tackles available and the draft has several options that won’t cost $10 mill/year. Lower your expectations big guy.

His recent “fall” can be attributed to him playing through injury, not a lack of talent. And if by some miracle Joeckel does fall to #4, you can still pick him.

Otherwise, it makes Milliner your pick at #4, and you get 2 instant starters.
