Most FGs are not a few inches from being blocked. Most 6’3″ LBs could probably outjump him by 7 inches.

If he wasn’t good enough to start on offense or defense at Ole Miss …

Incorrect. The longer your arms are, the more difficult bench press is. If he had raptor arms, he could probably throw the damn bench press through the roof.

Alright Dwight Schrute… Margus Hunt is 6’8″ 280 with an 82 inch wingspan and he put up 225 38 times. Thats almost twice as many times with only a 5 inch difference per arm.

This man is just huge. He is not athletic enough to be of any help to any team right now. There is nothing saying that he can’t work hard, lose some weight, and become an incredible athlete, but where he is right now, you are probably never going to hear his name again.

He will land on a team that has a coach that realizes they need to work to their players strengths, for example, New England. BB would definately find a role for this guy. Goal-line TE and PAT’s, as some have suggested would be a solid starting point.

I don’t think you are considering if this guy puts his hands up. He immediately would break 7’2, easily, and then even if he could only jump 6″ that de-bunks your 5’10″ corner theory doesn’t it? And my numbers are conservative.

Wow, there’s a name from the far distant past. Sligh, at 7′, was pretty good at blocking kicks, but couldn’t play a lick otherwise. I remember seeing him at the first Bengals training camp in 1968, literally a head taller than anyone else. He was big and tall, but couldn’t even make the expansion Bagels’ team.

Did you not read the part about his freakishly long arms?

I would sign him as a free agent. Put him through serious cross-fit, yoga, and pilates routines for a year or so and try to limber him up. Small risk with potentially huge returns. Either way best of luck to him in the future.

The most concerning thing with this guy is his heart. Taller people are more likely to have heart problems because they need a stronger heart to pump the blood around their body, putting more strain on it. He hasn’t played much so that in itself is a big unknown as to whether he is even healthy enough to play. Best of luck to the big guy.
