I watch some of the highlight videos of the guy. He plays head down, he is basically another Tommy Kelly if Raiders draft him. Straight up power to bum rush up the middle. YouTube search him, a lot of the games that are show you see him completely over pursue while playing head down, and the runner rushes right past him. Elite talent, but I fear he might play with poor in game technique.

The Chiefs would be foolish to draft Floyd #1 overall, seeing as how they got Dorsey, Jackson and Poe with their #1 picks in the last 5 years.

Personally I think Floyd is overrated and will turn out like all the other Gator D-Lineman drafted in the top 15. What about Loutelili though? Heart issues aside he is the best DL in the draft.

I hate drafting fat d lineman so high. They are such a waste. They just get fat and lazy. Kc should know from 3 years of drafting dorsey, Jackson, poe, I mean look at the top d kinsman taken top 10 in the past 20 years. Most are major busts.

@Hartdaddy: How can you justify comparing Sharrif Floyd to Glen Dorsey? Because of their position, speed, strength?

Dorsey’s speed, well lack thereof in this situation was evident and he also had a history of nagging injuries.

Floyd ran a 4.92 while Dorsey ran a 5.08, doesn’t sound like much of a difference but it is. Floyd is rumored to have bench pressed 225, 37 times at UF while Dorsey did 27 reps.

You could be right with your assumption though I believe there was little research done to fortify it but let a couple seasons go by before trying to predict a college athlete.

Floyd is not a nose tackle. What happened to Star Loutelil? I guess the heart thing dropped him down. If Star is proven healthy to play, he should be the first person taken in the draft. He must be doubled on every play.

Joeckel and Fisher make a lot more sense, but the Raiders, Eagles and Jags all have needs at CB and D-line, so Milliner and Floyd are interchangeable. But is Floyd really THAT much better a prospect that a (hopefully healthy) Star Lotulelei or Sheldon Richardson?

Ok…you sold me…as a Jags fan – let’s get this guy with our #2 overall…our defense was pathetic last year….

and then with our 1st overall pick in the 2nd round get a good olineman.

Alot of people are saying Bjorn Werner at 2 overall – I think that would be a huge reach…let’s go with Sharrif. I actually think Cosell knows what he is talking about.

Glenn Dorsey, Dontari Poe, Sharrif Floyd. Is it bad that Allen Bailey is undoubtedly better than 2 of those guys and he was drafted 3rd round by the Chiefs, not top 15?

from day one it’s been speculated that the eagles were either going with dee milliner or the nose tackle whose name i shall not dare try to spell. some of the sports radio guys have been talking about sharrif the whole time as someone who they’d like to the eagles to draft, but as a guy who would be a reach at #4. however, with the way he’s raised his stock i wouldn’t be surprised, or disappointed to see us take this kid. he’s a philly kid, and every indication is that he is a good person and a hard worker. we’re changing to a 3-4 and we need a legit nose tackle to anchor the line. if he’s there at #4, he won’t be there at #5. draft him and sign kruger to play opposite fletcher cox, and the birds might be headed in the right direction with their front 7. i won’t hold my breath though.
