Jaguars will release Dawan Landry today

Landry

Jaguars safety Dawan Landry was due to make $5.35 million this year.

Now, he’ll make nothing. From the Jaguars.

They’ll cut Landry today, per a league source with knowledge of the situation.

Landry, a fifth-round pick of the Ravens in 2006, signed with the Jaguars in 2011. Via spotrac.com, it was a five-year, $27 million contract. The move results in a $3.9 million cap charge, for a net cap savings of $1.45 million.

But the cash savings of $5.35 million could be used on other players. Perhaps on one of the many free-agent safeties who will be hitting the market.
