Al Davis was a 3-time Super Bowl-winning, Hall of Fame owner/GM. One of the greatest figures in all of sports history. And you clowns want to act like Reggie McKenzie, below average former linebacker and 4-12 GM is some kind of huge upgrade and savior.
Al won three trophies and was at the doorstep for what could’ve been a few more if not for some flaky officiating.

Al is dead. Hue Jackson got the offense going, but he didn’t improve on Tom Cable’s 8-8, and his mouth didn’t do him any favors. Davis is a legend, but he didn’t do much over the last decade of his tenure, which is why guys like you think 8-8 is some type of grand accomplishment. McKenzie isn’t a savior. He’s just the guy that has to follow Davis and try to build a team in a different way than Davis did. It doesn’t happen overnight.

Can Reggie at least show any kind of measurable success or at least progress, not regression from 8-8 to 4-12, before you all kiss his feet?

Reggie McKenzie has earned the right to pick No. 3 in the NFL draft because he fielded a 4-12 team/coaching staff in 2012. Let’s just hope his rookie mistakes (including the original Branch contract) are behind him and he gets this thing figured out real quick, for his sake as well as the team’s.

Tyvon Branch is the real deal, he plays the game the way it was meant to be played.

Actually the difference is 2x as many wins and playing meaningful football until about 5 minutes left in week 17 vs. being dead in the water before Halloween and building on success.

Whoever made the decision to fire Hue Jackson is first and foremost to blame for the 2012 season. Mark Davis and Reggie are both on record saying it was Reggie’s call, while there is a lot of speculation that it was Mark’s decision.

The only real difference between 8-8 and 4-12 is draft position. McKenzie started 20M in the hole and now has over 6M to spend, without touching McFadden, Heyward-Bey, Tommy Boy, or Palmer. 3.5M in dead money in 2016 is nothing compared to that.

Win Lose or Tie a Raider Till I Die

These two deals had nothing to do with Al Davis other than that he drafted Branch in the 4th round a few years ago. These “out of whack” deals are on McKenzie.

Branch is OK, but not a difference maker. Probably worth about $2-3 per year. Personally. I think Mike Mitchell is better and should be the starter.

McKenzie did what he had to do to kick some cap hit down the road to when he may or may not still be employed by the Raiders.
