APTiki Barber says his identical twin brother wants to play in 2013. The team with which Ronde Barber has spent his entire career wants him to play for them in 2013.
“Coach Schiano and I met with Ronde this past week and expressed our desire for him to return to play another season with the Buccaneers,” Buccaneers G.M. Mark Dominik tells Stephen Holder of the Tampa Bay Times. “He asked us for some time to make his decision and we certainly respect that.”
Barber said basically the same thing on Friday night. “They want me to play, but they have left it up to me like they have pretty much every year,” Barber said. “I’ve got time, so I’m going to take my time.”
So what of Tiki’s assessment that Ronde plans to play?
“I believe he believes I want to play,” Ronde said.
I believe that’s all we’ll be saying about Ronde Barber until he makes his decision.

Class act, unlike his retired brother.
One more year!!!
That’s exactly what I thought, greg. It’s amazing how twins can have such different characters.
Class move by the Bucs, too, publicly saying they’re leaving it completely in Ronde’s hands. Most teams would press for a decision, then force one on the player.
I don’t think this is a good idea unless he’s used as a nickel corner. Barron needs to be playing the run more and Barber is too slow now to cover, so we need a good cover safety and Barber can play slot.
What is he, like 82 now?
