Falcons, Titans, Broncos chasing defensive ends

As the three-day legal non-tampering tampering period slowly unfolds, a trio of teams are believed to be keenly interested in the available defensive ends.

The Falcons, the Titans, and the Broncos are leading the way.

Atlanta needed help at the position even before cutting John Abraham eight days ago.  The Falcons are believed to be keenly interested in Osi Umenyiora and Dwight Freeney.

Ditto for the Titans, who wanted to chase Mario Williams last year but who were waiting for Peyton Manning to pick a team or get off the pot.

The Broncos have a potential need because they potentially will be cutting Elvis Dumveril.  It’s possible that the decision on Dumervil will depend on what it would take to sign his replacement, versus what he would take on a reduced salary to stay.

  1. This FA period and the draft seem to be pretty deep on both lines. Hope the backers make some moves on both fronts, changes need to be made. Mike Neal is not the answer to any question.

  2. Thank god I’m a fan of a team who doesn’t go the quick-fix route and drafts championship caliber talent like Robert Griffin, Alfred Morris, Ryan Kerrigan etc.

  3. What the H. Dumervil has been productive since signing his contract. Why the push to cut him if he doesn’t take a reduction in pay? Why even try to force him to reduce his pay of a salary signed off on only 3 years ago?

  4. Thank god I’m a fan of a team who doesn’t go the quick-fix route and drafts championship caliber talent like Robert Griffin, Alfred Morris, Ryan Kerrigan etc.

Lol. Red skin fan extolling the praises of their owner who builds by draft and has never made bad free agency choices

    2 words for you..Albert..Haynesworth..

  6. that’s a Skins fan who hasn’t been a Skins fan for very long…

you might wanna spend some time learning your team’s history

  7. Logical voice doesn’t sound logical. You guys got RG3 because you paid a fortune for him, and now you don’t have top notch WRs for him to throw to, which the Hawks finally figured out and shut you down in the second half of that playoff game – even before your hero hurt his knee (again) because your coach was stupid enough to keep sending him out there. Keririgan’s been hurt almost as much as he has played. Yeah, sounds like a great organization, run by a despised owner who makes the playoffs like once every 10 years.

do you think he could be poking a little fun at the redskins himself while actually enjoying the fact that they aren’t doing that for once? Jeez, you assume he’s an idiot.

  9. We are also chasing a receiver that can stay out of trouble, a running back that can shut his mouth, an O-line that can stay healthy, a defense that doesn’t give up 29 points a game, and a scheme that actually works to QB’s abilities that’s running it……

sorry, still getting over last season

    Go Titans

He amuses himself, but we do not assume he is an idiot. We know it.

  11. We take time out of our days to laugh at the Titans and their consistent commitments to mediocrity.

Washington is notorious for throwing big dollars at free agents. Did u forget Albert Hayensworth already how much did they pay him again to be horrible?

  13. Ummm….. I think (hope) logical voices was being sarcastic. No one is that stupid.

  14. Logicalvoice may or may not be an idiot, but he is definately a troll and you guys are idiots for feeding him. Just ignore him, he may not go away but at least he won’t be getting his jollies off of your responces.

  15. That Broncos loss to Baltimore was really devastating, Peyton had to smoke a bowl that night right?

  16. As a skins fan, I am embarrassed by that one poster’s remark. We were the poster children for years of quick fix drafts and trades. One thing when you are in the playoffs consistently and you make a move to help your team, but it’s totally fubar to do what the skins used to do and raid some other teams high prices FA and most of them were past their prime. The only FA that has worked out to the skins credit was London Fletcher. What is that 1/100? Our fanbase has no room to talk about FA signings.
