Noways the Brady Bunch pays Wallace 11-12m and Mikes to dumb to reduce his unbelievable asking price to play with a proven Winner. Plus he wants to be the #1 option. On top of that Brady can't hit a target 60 Yards away unless he's wide open on a busted coverage. Pats are the kings of "DINK N DUNK" bad fit for Mike

I have no problem with the Patriots making a move for Mike Wallace, but I am not in favor of using a large percentage of the available cap space to get him. We need to secure positions at guard, tackle, cornerback, and safety, and more depth on the defensive line more than we need a star receiver.

I'd like to try drafting for at least one receiver, perhaps looking at free agency, and even consider trades. But most of all, I'd like to see cornerback, for the first time in a decade, being locked up solid, with safety a close second. Let everything else fall in place as it may...

Who's the source on Pat's interest, Wallace's agent? BTW Ireland will make panic moves for receivers, Brandon Marshall anyone? Bowe is gone, once Welker goes and Jets sign some receiver MIA fan base will start crying like a kid with coal in their stocking on Xmas and Wallace will be the next one dropping passes in the endzone and throwing tantrums on Mia's sidelines.

Get some receivers in the draft guys, no more Misis or Odricks, plllleeeeaaaasssseee

Steeler fans are having such a tough time adjusting to what life is like when you’re no longer relevant, competitive, and no one cares about history from the seventies. Oh what a great weekend. Don’t hate, appreciate. Cheers!

It's confusing enough (and perhaps kind of sad?) to see you troll Steeler articles at 3:00pm in the afternoon on weekdays when normal human beings in EST are working. I can't wrap my mind around how you've not been banned or how your garbage doesn't get moderated out.

Someone is going to pay him, and I doubt it'll be the Steelers or the Patroits. Don't be surprised if he becomes a Brown, they have the most cap space of any team. Wallace is fast but he wont make a play on the ball when covered like Megatron and Fitzgerald or Boldin. He can run fast but will never make a play in traffic. I watch him closely his last two years, other than his speed he wasn't that impressive. His speed is worth something and I'm sure some team will lump loads of money on him then inturn cut him after his production could be as low as it was the past 2 seasons in Pittsburgh.

Jedi Mind Trick, indeed...

But did BB use it on the Dolphins? In 2009, BB let it be known he was "interested" in QB Pat White right before Miami was to pick their #44 pick in the draft...Parcells then proceeded to draft one of the biggest busts in Fins draft history (the Pats drafted next and got Ron Brace...a big Pats draft bust...karma you know) And then you have the Wes Welker trade deal, and we know how that turned out.

Did BB use it on Welker? That remains to be seen.

My hunch: Salguero used it on the Phins, not BB...read the Herald to find out just how much Armando loves to piss on Jeff Ireland (which is why, I think, so many Fins fans love to piss on Ireland), trying to "force" Ireland to get Wallace...thus, after reading Salquero, owner Ross will tell Ireland he must get Mike Wallace to "keep him away from the Patriots"

Nah, a three way including the brainless ravenator would be quite spectacular ..IQ of the three added together is below their body temperature.

panfanken:
The Steelers were NOT ``willing'' to let Wallace go. He turned down a $10 million per year offer. The Steelers simply can't afford him.
Bad attitude and all, Wallace still had 8 TD receptions this past season.
Put Wallace with a better offense that has a quarterback who can throw an accurate deep ball, sky's the limit for this kid.

People say Brady can't throw over 30 yards anymore are lying. His arm has never been better. He is accurate deep, it's just that he has not had a deep threat to catch those passes since Randy Moss. We saw flickers of it with Wes, Slater, Tate, Stallworth, Edleman, and even the runningbacks and tightends. But never consistent like Randy Moss because Randy Moss was gifted with speed and hands. He honed those skills before he came to New England. Mike has Moss like speed but his hands might be an issue but look at the angels in which he runs with that break away speed. That is special! Also in super bowl against the Giants super bowl 46 I believe, Brady threw an accurate 48 yard or more hail mary that got to Gronk dead on the money but someone got under him and deflected it. Even in 2012 Brady could hit the deep ball with Dante Stallworth when he was double covered! Brady is a little rusty but once he has actual speed at reciever he will look better because he will have more practice.

No one in the NFL moves the chains like Brady to Welker. Brady did his part to keep Welker and now it's up to Wes and Belichick to close the deal. Any astute observer of the Patriots will note that those third down receptions take a physical and emotional toll on an opposing defense. You can see it in the demonstrative reactions on the defensive side of the ball. Alas, to be truly effective Welker needs a redzone threat like Gronkowski to get the touchdown after all of that work and he has been hurt in too many key games. Wallace would be nice but a physical receiver with size would be a better complement to the Patriots.
