The Saints and outside linebacker Junior Galette have agreed in principle on a three-year contract, the club announced Saturday.
The 6-foot-2, 258-pound Galette logged a career-best five sacks in 12 games (one start) for the Saints in 2012. He was a prospective restricted free agent.
Galette, who turns 25 later this month, is moving from defensive end to outside linebacker in the Saints’ new 3-4 scheme, the club said. He has recorded 9.5 sacks in three NFL seasons.
