Bengals re-sign Wallace Gilberry

Gilberry

Bengals coach Marvin Lewis wasn’t lying when he said the team plans to use its cap surplus on its own guys.

Per a league source, the Bengals have re-signed defensive end Wallace Gilberry to a three-year, $6.75 million contract.

Gilberry entered the league as an undrafted free agent out of Alabama. Signed by the Giants in 2008, he was cut before the start of the regular season. He joined the Chiefs, spending four years in Kansas City before signing last year with the Buccaneers.

Cut on September 14, Gilberry landed in Cincinnati, appeared in 14 games, notched 6.5 sacks, and recovered a fumble for a touchdown against the Eagles.
