Giants, four others reportedly showing interest in Sen’Derrick Marks

Defensive tackle Sen’Derrick Marks didn’t generate a ton of headlines over the last four years with the Titans, but he did enough to attract the interest of several NFL teams during this weekend of negotiation before free agency.

Jim Wyatt of the Tennessean reports that five teams have already expressed an interest in signing Marks once that’s allowed on Tuesday. The Titans did approach Marks about re-signing with the team, but the sides were separated by a wide gap on money and Marks has been expected to hit the open market since last week.

The former second-round pick is coming of a 14-start season that saw him record 41 tackles, 1.5 sacks and a forced fumble for the Titans. Marks only started 12 games over his first three years as he worked his way up the depth chart and teams may feel he will continue to progress in the coming years.

We don’t know the identity of all five teams, but Ralph Vacchiano of the New York Daily News followed up on Wyatt’s report by noting that the Giants are interested in Marks’ services. The Giants have already said goodbye to Chris Canty and Rocky Bernard is set to become a free agent on Tuesday, a pair of developments that could make Marks a solid fit on Perry Fewell’s defense in 2013.

I hope those teams know that what he will bring to the table is at least 2 offsides penalties a game.

As long as he can stuff the run and wont break the bank, I’d welcome him to the Giants

riiiiight, bec the last thing the giants need to spend money on is ANOTHER d line (tackle) another year after the past few years of FA tackles and drafting like 3-4 tackles in early rds of the draft instead of AGAIN going after more needs.. but in reese we trust i guess.

if hes cheap and can stop the run im for it but i kind of like joseph
