APAlthough Texas A&M offensive tackle Luke Joeckel appears to be the current favorite to land in Kansas City as the first overall pick in next month’s NFL draft, Central Michigan offensive tackle Eric Fisher is getting increasing attention.
The Chiefs have a scout at Central Michigan’s Pro Day today, and Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press reports that the Chiefs also have a private workout with Fisher scheduled for this month.
Both Joeckel and Fisher were starters at left tackle in college, but the Chiefs may spend the first overall pick on a player who will be penciled in as the starter at right tackle during his rookie year. The Chiefs used the franchise tag on their starter at left tackle, Branden Albert, and released their starter at right tackle, Eric Winston.
One way or another, offensive tackle appears to be the direction the Chiefs are heading in with the No. 1 pick.

In a year when a primo QB is not available it makes sense to get a primo OL for the day when/if you get a primo QB.
Argument can be made for Fisher being the best tackle in the draft. Also, as good as Joeckel is, it helps even more he’s always blocked for mobile QBs(Manziel/Tannehill.)
I don’t think you can go wrong with either pick
