APNow any of the teams that might have been thinking about making a run at Chris Gamble before his surprise retirement have another veteran corner to choose from.
With salary cap issues mounting, the Redskins have done the expected and released cornerback DeAngelo Hall, according to Mike Jones of the Washington Post.
That takes them off the hook for his $7.5 million salary, but it puts them firmly in need of some secondary help.
The 29-year-old Hall should still get plenty of action in the market, even if he’s not going to reach the kind of salary numbers the Redskins lavished on him in 2009 (a six-year, $55 million deal).

wow hall only 29 seem like he been around a long time, I still remember al davis giving him $8 mill for 8 games!!
Redskins may as well just let everyone go and give up and walk away.
With the best QB in the league, a top 3 WR, best defense in the league, best coach, best fans, and best CB. The Seahawks will dominate everyone for a decade.
I can hear HARbaugh whining already……….Too bad Skins have a QB that is overrated and has only one good wheel.
I wasn’t surprised when the sun came up this morning, either.

the redskins don’t play the seahawks this year.
Good Riddance MOUTH !!!
As a Redskins fan since 1972,this years secondary could be worse than last years,or the worst in team history.Who we gonna get with no cap money?
Apparently Iknoweverything doesn’t know that Seattle has never won anything.
Its ashame being the way he played last year. The Redskins had to make this move
Maybe come join Rogers in SF? Skins fans should be angry at their front office over this cap mess and not the league.
Hey Seattle, until you guys win a superbowl you really do need to shut up!
Welcome to New England
The guy is one of the biggest punks in the league. Talks more then anything. A true class act.
I can’t wait till he retires, the turd.
Oh God, logicalvoice’s split personality is a Seahawks fan…
“Iknoweverything” is apparently taking etiquette lessons from Richard Sherman.

well cutting this bum just got us 8 million in cap room. and there is this thing called the draft
Are the bears looking for any receivers we know he’s Jay Cutlers favorite target.
@iknoweverything -
actually considering the way the officials bend over backwards for the seahawks (i.e. the green bay game) there are 30 other teams that should also pack it in.
The guy made a few plays here and there, and had some really good moments (Bears game). However, even back in his days with the Falcons, MeAngelo never really seemed to be as good as he thought he was. He talked like Deion Sanders, but covered like Fred Smoot. Wait, he talked like Fred Smoot too. Ok, so basically he was an over-paid Fred Smoot. Move makes complete sense. Skins finally getting it right.
This makes Dez Bryant sad
Any team wanting to sign an oxygen bandit….your guys is right here!
He will be Jets bound. They like overpaying trashy players, and there is a CB spot open when they move Revis out.
Only a matter of minutes before he gets flagged for arguing about it with the front office.
This guy created more boneheaded personal foul penalties, and is very undisciplined. Looks into the backfield, and get’s burned by speedy receivers. Have at it fans of other NFL teams….. As for skins fans who are not a fan of this guy, he may come back at a lower price (ugh!!)…. Also for the guy who said welcome to NE, didn’t you already learn when you traded for Albert Haynesworthless?
No surprise. The guy allowed over 1000yds by himself
I am really getting sick of Seattle! I think I am starting to like Dallas more and more each day. Don’t know if the slurping up of R. Wilson and people forgetting about RG3 or Sherman’s big mouth. They have not won anything and people act like they have won 8 rings. Go play in the rain you miserable fan base HTTR!!!
Uknownothing
The seahags barely beat the Redskins with an injured QB.wait till he beats them in the playoffs this year.
Seattle has a team?
time for Chase Minnifield to step up!
Yeah…Seattle has a team? Any Super Bowls? Hail!!
What Football decision has Danny Synder ever made that hasn’t turned into a disaster?
RG3′s career ending after one season is the type of thing you’d expect to see from this snake-bitten franchise.
Going to be a lot of air under that ball in Landover this year… best tune in to that team 30 miles up 95, they’re the only team that matters in The Old Line state.
McNulty – The Browns don’t matter around these parts!! Hail!!
I’m torn. DeAngelo Hall was both the best and the worst corner on the roster.
The only thing that pushes me off the fence to make it OK is that it was his contract (and Hayneworth’s) that inspired the cap penalty, so maybe Hall not being on the team anymore will restore some of the the already battered team karma.
Damn I wish they kept him. I love how he would talk smack after allowing a 30 yard completion
So long, Farewell, Auf wiedersehen, Goodbye!
He is still a good corner. He played on a secondary with zero safeties and was put up against the best WR the other team had to offer. Down the stretch he played great. He also adds that bit of and (I hate to say it) swagger.
Im also not a skins fan. But hes a decent player. Not sure why everyone’s bashing him.

I sense a sibling rivalry with logicalvoice.
I’m sad they let him go! I loved the entire 2012 team! Wish him well! All those glad he’s gone, who gonna replace him??!! And that Seattle thing.. Just stop it!! Only time we see y’all this year is if yAll make playoffs!! HTTR!!

Great screen name, crappy post…And I don’t care how many ignorant haters gave you a thumbs-up, either.
I’ll be surprised if this stays up.
Low talent, big mouth, penalty machine, and those are his good points. Good riddance to the turd of misery.
Say what you will about D. Hall’s career in D.C.. But I will always remember him coming up huge in the regular season finale against Dallas. Dude completely shut Dez Bryant down 1-on-1 for most of the night, and he was a huge reason why we won that game/the division/made the playoffs.
I’ve been a big MeAngelo detractor over the years (who is too dysfunctional even for the Raiders ?), but if you have a team that plays a lot of zone and don’t mind the distractions, you could do worse…..he still has a nose for the ball.
The Skins don’t have a first round pick but plenty of other picks in the draft. Take a couple corners in the draft. I liked D Hall’s spirit but his play was suspect at times and all that mouth too.
D Hall is very thankful cause now he doesn’t have to see Dez Bryant twice a year
No one is more deserving of being cut.
