These days you need 3 decent DEs to make a difference. I wish the Bucs could have worked things out but maybe this guy has a higher opinion of himself. The proof (contract and performance) will be on display when he signs with another team.

Average player at a valued position gets overpaid and underwhelms.

Wimbley has been decent for the Titans, and I bet Bennet will be decent for whatever team he ends up with.

But, as with a lot of these free agents, once he signs it’ll be the last you hear of him until his contract runs up again. Then the cycle repeats itself.

Free Agency fosters mediocrity.
