Greg Toler expected to hit free agency after all

It looks as though Greg Toler will get the chance to head to free agency after all.

Despite a report that Toler had agreed to a three-year deal to remain with the Cardinals, that is not actually the case. According to Kent Somers of the Arizona Republic, Toler has not agreed to a deal with the Cardinals and is expected to hit free agency on Tuesday.

Tim Ring of KTVK-TV in Phoenix has since corrected his initial report.

The Cardinals will have to address the cornerback position at some point this offseason as they only have three cornerbacks under contract for next year.

  1. No way Bidwill gives up those 2 nickels he’s rubbing together to improve the team….he loves those nickels. [repasted this comment from earlier report, also repasted from comments placed the last 10 years]

  2. Add another one to the list; there are going to be some decent and cheap corners out there for the 9ers. Time to apply a little pressure on Brown and Culliver.

  3. rams don’t have a backup quarterback! no receivers either! were just relying on something. Brian Quick! some rookie wide out!some free agent ( mike Wallace, Greg Jennings,)! Darryl Washington and Isaih Pead. Be like Larry johnson and Priest Holmes. Remember Warrick Dunn and Tj. Duckket. Jerome Bettis and Willie Parker.

  4. Let’s see….you can’t run the ball, but you cut Beanie Wells! You can’t stop the pass rush…but you spend the last month trying to convince everyone the oline is good! Then your competition upgrades at WR….and you let a key CB explore free agency? Welcome to Cardinals football!

  5. Great place to live but Fitzgerald has to be pissed he signed that long term deal. He won’t win more than four games in a season ever again in AZ with that dbag owner Bidwell.

  6. So somebody jumped the gun so that they could get the big time scoop on Greg Toler’s free agent status?

Wow – you guys are great – what would we do without you?

  7. theuglitruth things change but I guess it takes more for your opinion to change…..Cards’ problem is not that they don’t spend (just look at the cap numbers or the contracts signed by Fitz, Washington, Campbell etc…within the last 24 months) – their problem is that they don’t spend it in the right way….on a great QB. One has to hope that the new coach with fix that – otherwise they will stink for all foreseeable future.

  8. You can’t believe Tim Trying after that Andy Reid mishap. Ring holds no weight out here in the valley from an insider standpoint.

Its all about Kent Somers and Mike Jurecki out here.
