Happy new (league) year, almost

There’s no ball that will drop in Times Square.  No champagne to uncork.  Auld Lang Syne?  Forget about it.

Today’s no holiday for the NFL, for those who cover it, or those who follow it.  Everyone will be working — working to do deals, to report on deals, to read and hear about deals.

And we love every minutes of it.

At 4:00 p.m. ET, the 2013 League Year begins.  And for this extended New League Year’s Eve Day, we’ll be counting the seconds by tracking the news and rumors and speculation and analysis, culminating in a releasing of the football hounds at 1600 hours.

Until further notice, we’ll have non-stop coverage and constant updates, around the clock.  Until further notice, don’t forget about the “next” button at the bottom of the page, since you can only load 15 stories at a time.

Until further notice, get ready to wear out your F5 button.

We’re off and running, with all hands on deck (eventually).  PFT Live gets rolling at noon ET (as always), and Pro Football Talk on NBC Sports Network gets going an hour early today, with a special, expanded two-hour edition, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. ET.The hamsters are rested, the writers are ready. So thanks for your ongoing support, and enjoy the ride over the next few days.
