Getty ImagesThere’s another guy named Kruger who’ll be looking to donate some excess year-end money to the Human Fund.
Per a source with knowledge of the situation, Ravens linebacker Paul Kruger is expected to sign with the Browns after the league year begins. The contract is expected to be in the range of $8 million to $9 million per year.
The Colts were also reportedly after Kruger.
Maybe now he can afford a jersey that fits.

Kruger only goes there because the Eagles dont need his services. The legend of Eagles Chip Kelly is set to begin at 4pm today. You will all be beasted by us. We get what we want. You get scraps.

…..ZING!
Fire sale here. Get you’re red hot Ravens player!
LOL!!! HILARIOUS!!!
Get ready to hit the turf, Flaco and Rothie. Hard to throw looking up at the clouds wafting over the stadium.
File this under: Players who will be asked to restructure in 2014.
Flacco casualty #3.
I dont even care if we have to overpay him, we have the money. good to see browns being aggressive. I still think after this we should make a trade for revis maybe offer Colt Mccoy our 4th round pick and next years 1st. Haden and mccoy would dominate together
Vikings just resigned Loadholt sorry bears fans
Vikings just resigned Loadholt sorry bears fans
That’s it?
Can Kruger play quarterback too?
be careful of what you get,guy couldn’t even
make the team for 2 years.not seeing 8-9
million here [clev had to spend money somewhere]
Wow flaco did a number on his team!!!
The Ravenator wants and explanation.
Lol market is insane, epic overpay for a guy who was behind sergio kindle a year ago. Browns suck forever.
Cleveland Browns = The Human Fund
PFF’s #1 rated pass rusher among 3-4 OLBs (9 sacks, 55 pressures)… gets a better bookend than hobbled Suggs in healthy, younger Sheard. If the Browns also get a serious corner, they’re gonna be very tough to throw on.
Sweet. Get that 3rd round comp pick, Oz!
Perhaps the best play Kruuuug ever made for the Ravens. Tying up an impetious divisional rival’s salary cap!
Just like every NFL deal, they throw a bunch of money in for year one and essentially it’s a 2-year contract. People get too excited over these deals that end up getting modified after year two if they’re not cut by then.
Why does everyone keep saying “Flacco causualty?” Do the huge contracts of Suggs, Rice, Ngata, Yanda, and others not mean anything? Flacco’s cap number this year is 6.8 mil.
The Ravens just have the “problem” of drafting well. We can’t keep ‘em all.
Yet another free agent that will go to Cleveland and somehow NOT live up to the money he will be paid. I hope I’m wrong for all the long suffering Browns fans.
Who was the last Ravens defensive free agent to go somewhere and have success with his new team? Much like Andy Reid’s QBs, Mike Shanahan’s RBs the Ravens defensive players are products of the system, buyer beware!

Must be logical’s new SN…
I’ll forgive the usual Browns related snarkiness because i love the Kruger Industrial Smoothing / Human Fund reference!
Unfortunately, as a Browns fan, I too am snarky about overpaying the 7th most valuable Ravens defender to come on over to Cleveland. I’ve seen that show before and it’s never ended well. In fairness, Gary Baxter et al. have nothing to do with Paul Kruger so I’ll try to reserve (further) judgment.
Watch Kruger disappear on game days.
Enjoy 5-11 seasons, Krug.
That’s life ColdTundra….we still have Webb, wait, we don’t really want him do we?
4 years in the league and no double digit sack seasons. And dude didnt show up before week 6 when suggs was back to draw double teams. And no, we’re not going to miss cary williams either.
Sounds like one of those old car horns….. K uger!!
Kruger is nothing without Suggs
GO RAVENS
Haden and Revis you mean, and yes. Do it. Say what you will about Colt McCoy, but he is an upgrade over Sanchez. Everyone wins.
For those of you that do not watch Ravens games let me enlighten you, he plays MAYBE 40% of downs and is coming from a team that had Offenses worrying about Suggs and Ngata. #OVERPAID..
I like how flavordave is the new version of the 2 idiots in washington (logical voices and voice of reason) and the always annoying ravenator.
Keep on pretending your team isn’t going to suck this year.
Bust!
Kruger got paid but in a awful place…Best of luck
Guy is a half-season wonder…he had his moments but this is what happens when you are on a SB winning team everyone looks good and gets paid.
Also why is the steeler fan laughing. Kruger is still in the division and will still see your quarterback twice a year. Smh at the fairweathers…
Mistake by the lake!

Ultimate Tool Shed Post right there
Wow! The Browns have a great new DC and will put together a force to wake up their rivals with Kruger reprising his role in Baltimore. I’m sure this seems like Christmas morning for Ray Horton.
As an Eagles fan….I wanted Kruger more then any other free agent…just another example of Joe Banner getting the better of us. It is a sad day when the Browns have become a better organization then our once proud Eagles. Thanks Chip. I cannot wait to go for 2 points in the first quarter, whenever we actually do score in the first quarter.
8 or 9 per?! This is the Cleveland version of Nnamdi Asomugha.
Overpaid!!! My colts arent that silly to pay a system player that much money, Browns got fleeced
Would have liked seeing him in a Colts uni……………….
Guy had one productive season after, what, 3 or 4 years of doing nothing? Ya’ll can have him for $8mil.
And the browns will continue to suck.
For all you Browns fans that are super excited, go back and re-watch film on more than a few of Kruger’s sacks (including one of his two in the Super Bowl). He’s great at flopping on a scrambling QB about a half yard behind the line of scrimmage.
So glad he’s gone from the Ravens…
Ravens lose players likethis every single year and they not only replace them but them players disappear on other teams.
Cleveland… where talent goes to waste.
This is the first of many solid pickups. You wait and see.
Thanks for a couple of good years Freddy. Good luck in Cleveland, you’re gonna need it.
The Ravens are coming apart at the seams. Ozzie will need to draft very well to keep the team in contention.
Again, jump ball Joe and a team of nobody’s.
A couple of days ago we heard from someone who thinks he works in the Baltimore FO that Boldin is gone so that Kruger can stay. What gives?
Larry Brown 2013
Ahh there’s all the Steelers “fans”….havent heard from any of u since week 14 of last year….guess what….you wont make the playoffs again this year
Ya’ll can stop pretending like you knew who Paul Kruger was before 2012.
I would love at least one person in this thread that blames this on Flacco to show the math of how that’s the case, just one please. ROFL.

I’ll take that + five consecutive playoff appearances and a Lombardi over the alternative.
I heard Brandon Weeden is set to retire next season. Dude’s getting old, haha. No QB and a weak-poor WR core at BEST. Scoring 6 points a game isn’t too bad for Cleveland, I guess. Their defense, however is downright TERRIFYING. I’ll give them that………
8-9 million a year for a guy who didn’t play every down? nicely done cleveland.
Congrats Cleveland you just got the 4th best linebacker on the Ravens last year roster…. oh yea and paid him wayyyyyy to much!!!

That worked out really well for the Eagles 2 years ago…is this going to be dream team 2?

“We get what we want”
So you guys don’t want Super Bowl wins?
He’ll strike it rich in Cleveland…
…and never be heard from again
One trick pony! Major liability in the running game…typical browns overreach!
Gary Baxter, Jamal Lewis, Tony Pashos, and now Paul Kruger. And every time the Pound Rumbled “Championship”. Bad move Paul, Indy was sooooo much better fit. 10 indoor games a year, playoff caliber team, and Pagano. I like the guy but not on a move like this.

“Hard to throw looking up at the clouds wafting over the stadium. ”
In Cleveland that’s called “pollution”.
“Haden and mccoy would dominate together ” McCoy is switching to CB?
Kruger became the driving force in the Baltimore Ravens’ pass rush last season, recording nine sacks during the regular season and 4.5 in the postseason, including two in the club’s Super Bowl victory over the San Francisco 49ers.
During the regular season, Kruger had 38 quarterback hurries — 15 more than anyone else on the Ravens. He also had 15 quarterback hits — five more than anyone on the Baltimore defense.
Ya… Bandwagon Ravens fans, you didn’t want him.
My ass… LOL
Kruger is Getting Vastly Overpaid. He Only Started Playing Well Once Suggs Came back. He benefited from the attention Suggs and Ngata were getting from Offences. He will be another of Our Defensive who leave and become nobodies. Kruger is going to find out that the Grass isn’t always Greener on the Other side.
Maybe instead of a jersey that fits, they need to find him a moth eaten red and black sweater and musty brown fedora. Why? Because this outrageous contract will come back to haunt Banner in his dreams. One-two Paul is coming for you– three four Banner and Lombardi out the door!

Glad you wanted that 4-12 record last year because you’ll have another losing season in 2013. LOL
Another on a long list of former ravens defenders who never went on to be as good with a different team, I’m sure
Except Kruger was never that good
Whined non stop about playing special teams, the base alignments, and was worthless at setting the edge and/or in coverage, he can blitz with minimal success in obvious passing situations. Awesome.
Had half of a good season out of 4-5, mostly against inferior competition
Dropping bills on situational players with almost zero pedigree
The Cleveland browns, everyone
Still raking in lombardis here in baltimore, praise jah
Love the Seinfeld reference Florio
Lil Joey Banner the GM who put together the Philly Dream Team is back at it again .
Eagles are the 1960 World Champions! Why would we want a super bowl when we are world champs?
Adalius Thomas 2
Browns will still finish 4th in AFC North for at least the next 3 years, no matter who they sign. You can’t buy chemistry.
ATTENTION
PFT uses the English language.
Thank you,

@flavordave: The Eagles fans “get what they want”? So U guys have always wanted to suck & never even sniff a Lombardi Trophy? Typical Filthadelphian.
As a Ravens fan, would I have liked it if they had been able to keep Kruger? Sure. But there was a reason we called him “The Legend”. It was because we kept hearing about how much potential he had as a pass rusher since he got drafted. He was pretty much a non-factor for a long time, hence “The Legend”, as in Camelot. Finally, he showed up in the second half of the season. I wish him well, except for those two times each season when we play the Browns. A one trick pony.
I honestly cannot believe the Browns fell for this. As a Ravens fan, I sometimes, late at night, wish the Browns would win and Ozzie would go back (and let Decosta take over for us) so their fans would just shut up. But they keep shooting themselves in the foot. This guy is the most overrated, gravy-trainin’ Raven ever – at least behind Bart Scott, E. Hartwell, and Sharper. He did NOTHING until Suggs showed up – he disappears against the run – pathetic.
He may get rich but he’ll never get a championship
I come for the football news and stay for the awful attempts at being funny
Kruger is a small-time white Albert Haynesworth. He could do squat for 3 years and has a great half season in his contract year. I wouldn’t pay him half of what the Browns are going to shell out. Ellerbe is another matter. I hate to lose him and that looks like the way it is going. Boldin is a big loss, but was pretty expensive as a #2 or #3 receiver.
The great and powerful Oz knows what he is doing. We’ll be in the playoffs again next year. Once there, the road to the SB isn’t a yellow brick road. All kinds of strange stuff happens.
Almost 5 sacks in the playoffs and you will not miss him?? hahah I love it Raven fan. Suggs is getting old and injury prone and Lewis is gone as well will be ED Reed. Your Defense is coming apart at the seams your best young Pass rushing LB is now on your rivals squad. Point is you wanted to keep him but thanks to your 120million QB you couldn’t and you think Upshaw will fill his shoes well lets wait and see on that one.
congrats mr. kruger…we enjoyed your time in baltimore, you truned into a solid player in your contract year, thus earning a buttload of moola…well done.
And another victim of the great Flacco robbery is revealed!
Cue Ravens fans and their “b-b-but Joe’s only counting 6.8 mil against the cap” line.
This is payback for the Ravens taking the Browns team.
Oh wait…the Browns overpaid for a Raven that will make their team worse. That isn’t quite payback for losing Superbowls and Hall of Famers.
Cleveland Browns..The AFC North team that is a gift that keeps giving to the Ravens.
Another raven gone. That team will be a bunch of rookies and an overpaid quarterback.
