Remember last year how screwed the Vikings were after the offseason an free agency ended.

2012 Vikings: No big free agent pickups.
2012 Vikings: Two first round picks, Harrison Smith and Matt Kalil
2012 Vikings: Lack receivers.
2012 Vikings: Adrian Peterson coming off severe knee injury.
2012 Vikings: Essentially had an unproven rookie QB. (No offseason in 2011.)
2012 Vikings: Picked by the experts to finish dead last in the NFC North and at the bottom of the NFC.

2012 Vikings: Beat the 49ers and Packers and make the playoffs.

What has changed?

2013 Vikings: Two first round picks.
2013 Vikings: Healthy Adrian Peterson.
2013 Vikings: Ponder has first full season under his belt.
2013 Vikings: Return with the core of last years team intact.

Yeah… they’ll probably be picked to finish dead last again.

On the surface (which is all we’ve scratched) it looks like trouble in the land of 10k lakes, but we’ve only started and need to see how this plays out in FA before you can go calling this offseason a bust.

Then there’s that little thing called the Draft too.

Let’s wait for the chickens to hatch.
