I don’t like this move. In his time in MN he showed that he struggles catching the ball and lacked the explosiveness that he supposedly has. He produced some very poor numbers in 12 games. I would rather see some new faces with some potential either from the draft or more pt for guys like Wright.

If you will recall, he had a back injury where he couldn’t hardly walk for a couple weeks and that zapped him of all his explosiveness. He couldn’t even push off or jump or run, and was basically hobbling around out there.

Before he got hurt, he was displaying his trademark explosiveness.

Oh my Lord, why? This guy didn’t produce last year. Why would they expect him to do any better in 2013? He didn’t have his head in the game most of the time.

Let’s hope this is not the marquee signing of the FA period for the Vikings. This isn’t what I’d call an upgrade. Hopefully, they’ll bring in enough WRs to render this signing moot before the start of the season.

I like the move, assuming they see Simpson as more of a #3 WR.

Vikes have to land one of the big name WR’s out there and draft a WR or two high in the draft. There is no way around it.

We can’t count on Aromashadu or Burton ever stepping up. Simpson could be a decent piece if he stays healthy and Wright is a promising slot WR. Vikes run game is outstanding and they have one of the better pairs of tight ends in the game (if Carlson can regain old form).

My point is that the Vikes could have a really good offense even without prime WR targets, but they need to upgrade significantly before camp starts.

Personally I really like this move. Simpson has a ton of potential, and the back injury derailed all of last year for him. Plus, he really seems to be a pretty good guy and always has a smile on his face, so would be a good team player and a positive guy to have in the locker room.

He won’t cost that much, gives the Vikes some more depth with some experience last year in their system. And if he produces this year, we could sign him to an extension also for not a ton of money.

Hopefully his back injury is behind him and he’s back to his old explosive self again this year and shows some of the promise he has flashed from time to time.

Horray, our best receiver isn’t coming off torn bilateral tendons!

I think they were pretty much forced to just to field a WR. I think Wright be ok, but as a role player.

Would like to see them pull in Greg Jennings and Danny Amendola. Those 2 plus Simpson, Wright, and draft a WR with 1 of the first round picks won’t be too bad I guess.
