The Bears have cut tight Matt Spaeth, Jeff Dickerson of ESPN Chicago reported Wednesday.

According to Dickerson, Spaeth was to receive a $500,000 roster bonus on Thursday.

The 29-year-old Spaeth played 31 games in two seasons with Chicago, catching 13 passes for 78 yards and three TDs in that span.

Spaeth’s appeal to other clubs figures to stem from his blocking. Pro Football Focus graded Spaeth as the NFL’s top run blocker at tight end in 2012.
