The Cardinals are doing their best to catch up with the Dolphins and Colts and Eagles for bulk signings, and they’re doing it with guys they’re familiar with.

In addition to the previously reported signings of running back Rashard Mendenhall, quarterback Drew Stanton and linebacker Lorenzo Alexander (and the release of safety Kerry Rhodes), the team has announced the additions of cornerback Jerraud Powers and safety Yeremiah Bell.

Powers was with head coach Bruce Arians in Indianapolis last year, and Bell has background with defensive coordinator Todd Bowles.

While not big names, they are the kind of solid signings that can help a new staff spread a message, and that’s often as important as raw talent.
