Stanton is solid but average. It says something when another teams 3rd stringer is good enough to be your starter. I hope it works out for the Cards.

Some of you folks are nuts. Drew Stanton should not be starting anywhere in the NFL, not even Arizona. He has never been good. He wasn’t good enough to win anything of significance in the NCAA and he hasn’t done a thing to point to in the NFL. He got starts in Detroit. He simply isn’t good enough. He is a career third stringer. That’s it. That’s all.

Stanton is a solid QB. Hopefully, working with BA in AZ, he will get the opportunity for playing time he deserves. There was no real future for him in Indy with Luck and Harnish on the roster. He is a contender to be the starter for the Cardinals.

I do feel kinda bad fold Kolb since he was decent last year, but enough is enough. I’m optimistic about any QB that isn’t named Kolb, Lindley, Skelton or Hoyer….or Anderson, or Hall, or Leinart…

Kolb, Skelton should be gone….Stanton, not really sold on him, trade a 3rd round pick for Matt Flynn if not draft a QB.

sad to say, but stanton could be the starter there, cause there isnt many other options, and stanton was in BA offense last year

Draft Eric Fisher or Lane Johnson with the #7, then come back in at the 2nd half of the 1st round to grab the 2nd QB (Manuel Glennon, Nassib… whoever is highest on your board.)

This is a pretty good signing. I’ve heard many Lions fans say that the guy never really got a fair shot in Detroit. The Cards are probably keeping Stanton, Hoyer and a rookie. So long, Skelton and Lindley. It wasn’t nice knowing ya.

If no other QB signs, I predict Stanton to be starting Week 1. I think he’s a lot better than advertised and already knows the Arians system, which is a classic leg up in a mediocre stable of QBs (think JT O’Sullivan and Mike Martz’s 49ers).
