I’ll just always remember when he was drafted he sort of complained that he wanted to go to the Chicago Bears.

He did a lot of sulking and preening here in Pittsburgh. I wish him well, but it’s baffling why he didn’t seize the chance he had with the Steelers.

I honestly hope well for Mendenhall. Hopefully a change of scenery is what he needs. He gave us Steeler fans some good years but the last 2 years he preferred to spin and dance instead of running hard.

Once again, the Steelers have allowed a player to leave without having a suitable replacement in place. When will this madness stop?
Mendenhall wasn’t the best back in the league, not even in the top 10, but he sure was the best back on the Steelers’ roster up until today.
Tomlin and Cobert must be banking on having a 1974-type draft next month.

Proir the 2013 Playoff appearance, the Redskins were a playoff team in 2005 and 2007. It has been since 1999 since the ‘Skins won a division title. I will let you do the math, since you are so good at knowing the history of my team.

@ mwatts1…Any ‘Skins fan not named @logicalvoice would agree that the Snyder/Cerrato run ‘Skins did not build through the draft. But the three years of Shanny/Allen has yeilded 30 picks in the last three drafts, of which 21 remain on the current active roster for 2013 and the majority contributed to division title in 2012. The history of the new mgmt is to build through the draft and use FA to supplement the draft. You really need to know your history when you talk about teams other than your own.

As a Denver fan, I was skeptical about that one. We needed a power back for short yardage situations. He was close, but didn’t quite fit the mold. Add in the injuries, off the field problems, fumbling and he just doesn’t quite seem what we were looking for. I’m glad he didn’t sign. I know Elway is looking for someone younger and cheaper, but I hope he takes a look at Steven Jackson now. He seems more appropriate.

Mendy had 2 1,000 yard seasons..he was hurt his rookie year broken Collar bone..Then the knee late 2 Years ago he was 200 or so away from 1,000 and last year he only had 57 carries. Don’t care who’s really runnin the ball on Pittsburgh its gona be hard yo put up numbers with that ” Running Back by committee bull crap and a patchwork. O-Line every year.

I’m glad my team is wise and builds thru the draft by drafting championship caliber talent like Robert Griffin, Alfred Morris, Ryan Kerrigan etc. Learn to do it the right way Zona.

Mendenhall played a large role in getting my Steelers to the Super Bowl in 2010, and had one of the lowest fumble rates in the league. Unfortunately, most fans focus only on the costly forced fumble in the Super Bowl. That, along with off-field missteps and injuries, derailed him in Pittsburgh. Now he has an opportunity to dump the baggage and start fresh with a coach who knows him. He could prove to be a tremendous asset for Arizona, and I wish him all the best.
