Hope the Colts runners can break open their own holes in the line, because Gosder won’t (can’t). But he CAN kill offensive surges instantly with movement and offside penalties.

Cherilus wasn’t a bad player. He wasn’t a very good one either. Lot’s of false starts and stupid penalties. I’m glad the Lions didn’t do something dumb like try and match the offer to keep him.

That should work out to about $250k a false start or holding penalty. Good luck Colts fans, most Deteoit fans wouldn’t have given him $2m/yr let alone that deal. You just signed the Right Tackle from the worst rushing OL in the league over the last decade. I’d love to know who else was interested in Cherilus at that price. Something tells me the Colts were bidding against themselves.

Plus I always disliked his first name. A “Gosder” sounds like some kind of facial or genital growth that you have to get lanced.

I’m really not sure why Cherilus got that much. Feels like a case of teams with extra money spending it. Granted, if the Colts are okay with it, Cherilus does upgrade their OL, and protecting Luck is something they can’t put a pricetag on. Still, seems like a … slight overpay, to say the least.
