Lions sign Jason Jones amid flurry of activity

The Lions continued what could be a busy day, adding some defensive line help.

According to Adam Caplan of TheSidelineView.com, the Lions signed defensive lineman Jason Jones, formerly of the Seahawks.

Jones played well under Lions assistant Jim Washburn when both were in Tennessee, and this offers some cover for their anticipated loss of Sammie Lee Hill to the Titans.

The Lions have already brought back cornerback Chris Houston, and are in the process of courting running back Reggie Bush.

Good signing but Jason Jones plays DE, not DT like Sammie Lee Hill. He’s replacing KVB or Avril.

I wonder if StafFORD’s and Suh’s contracts have been extended?

  4. hatesycophants says: Mar 13, 2013 12:15 PM

Leos are getting some work done today!

Oh gosh you lions fans are so delusional, you sign some meteoaker D end and think you will be any better with that whack job that you call a head coach. Just remember that you will never be better then the packers and will always be looking up at us! peace

‘Cuz that’s a position of need, right? Gonna start in front of Suh or Fairley?

‘Hawks used Jay Joe exclusively as the nickel/dime pass-rush specialist DT. He ran stunts and twists > 75% of the time. It was effective in the preseason, but after teams got some tape on him he disappeared for the rest of the year. He had 7 tackles total, and cost the ‘Hawks about $1.5 million per sack ($4.5 / 3). Seattle is actively looking for DL help and is willing to let him walk, what does that tell you.

PFT Hot 100 has him incorrectly listed as a DE.

Was a good pass rusher on 3rd down but couldn’t stay healthy. We’ll see if the Lions get more out of him then Seattle did….

Word is out that SUH had renegotiated his contact. Waiting to hear about Stafford. Make room to sign a safety.

Makin moves! Lets add Quinn and bush to colmplete the puzzle! 5000yd passer, 2000yd reciever(with no real #2 I might add), the best defensive tackle tandem in football and now shuring up a defensive backfield! Lets get back to the playoffs!!!

He plays DE and DT buddy and he’s great against the run which Avril and KVB were not.

How is a team thats tight vs the capm paying for these free agents? Groupons?

  14. ray0414 says: Mar 13, 2013 1:10 PM

suh restructured his deal, NOT renegotiated, big difference, he still gets the same money it just changes how its payed out. burleson and raiola took pay cuts to stay, suh is definitely not taking a pay cut lol
