APLinebacker Quincy Black’s 2012 season ended early because of a neck injury suffered when he hit Ryan Mathews of the Chargers in the backfield during a game.
Now his time with the Buccaneers has come to an end as well. Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times reports that the Buccaneers have released Black, a move that has been expected for a while as Black has made a slow recovery from the nerve damage he suffered on that play. It’s unclear whether he’s going to play again and that doesn’t work when you’re set to make $5.5 million.
Stroud also reports that the team has come to an agreement with wide receiver Kevin Ogletree. Ogletree had a huge first game of the season as the Cowboys’ third receiver in 2012, but slowly faded out of use as Dwayne Harris saw more playing time and Ogletree didn’t take advantage of his. He finished the year with 32 catches for 436 yards and four touchdowns and probably will be fighting for a role as a reserve receiver with the Bucs this summer.

Get healthy Quincy, wishing you the best and hope to see you back on the field soon.
And yet the QB remains Josh Freeman! Lol. What a loser organization.
Wishing the best for QB, but where the heck did the Olgretree interest come from??
Hope things work out for Quincy, good guy and a hard worker, was a good example for the young LB’s
When you get hurt like that it wasn’t one play that did it. It was a long time coming
flavordave and the alternative at QB is who?
We get it Flavordave, Eagles are the best, everyone else sucks. God, what a homer you are.
I love Freeman haters. Dude is still young and has so much upside to him. TB needed a 3rd receiver really badly last yr (Underwood was hit or miss) and I like the signing of Ogletree. Now just need a TE and the offense will be pretty solid. Defense is a different story.
Flavordave,
I’m sorry but I can’t hear you over the sound of my Superbowl ring.
Signed,
Ronde Barber
Sorry buc fans but your seriously missed on this one, KO can not run routes worth a dam and for some reason had a ton of trouble trying to figure out the plays that we’re being called on the field dude is a 4th reserved receiver at best…
We sign a useless receiver and miss out on all of the cornerbacks. I’m getting worried. Anyone want to buy my season tickets for 2013?
Harris should have started over Ogletree anyway but it took bone head Garrett all season to figure that out. Ogletree has had plenty of opportunities but just couldn’t hold down that WR spot. Maybe it works out in Tampa.
So does that mean he gets an injury settlement? Hard luck.
flavordave- You still mad the Bucs shut down the Vet and opened up Linc?
@buccaboo
I’ll take the tix but it will cost you $5.
