The Eagles continue to throws bodies at their defense, and they’ve found one who is a proven producer in a 3-4.

According to Jason LaCanfora of CBSSports.com, the Eagles are “on the verge of a deal” with Texans outside linebacker Connor Barwin.

If they get the Barwin of 2011 (11.5 sacks) instead of the 2012 version (3.0) it will be better for them.

But added to the mix with safeties Kenny Phillips and Patrick Chung, cornerbacks Cary Williams and Bradley Fletcher, defensive tackle Isaac Sopoaga and linebacker Jason Phillips, the Eagles are presiding over an extreme makeover.

UPDATE 5:49 p.m. ET: The Eagles announced that they’ve agreed to a six-year deal with Barwin.
