All we needed last year was 10 yards, and we’d have been in the Super Bowl, and this guy might be what puts us over the top.
Great move.
Yesterday on 790 The Zone, everyone was complaining about the Falcons being quiet in FA. I guess they forgot we have a GM that literally built the dynasty in New England.

Good pick up for Falcons, but it was the defense that gave up record comebacks to the Seahawks and 49er’s in the playoffs when they woke up in Eastern time. Better play for home field again because they do NOT want to play in Seattle or Sfran without some big D.

From fans that obviously don’t watch much football to sports reporters that don’t have a clue, I still can’t figure out the comments about SJax always being hurt or injury prone. In his nine years in the league out of 144 games he has missed 13 games. The man is a true warrior.

He also is injury prone though, so I understand why TT didn’t want to overpay.

TT is about to unload some serious money to some cornerstones in GB.

Well, I was hoping the Pack would land SJ. Seems like a standup guy, a solid running back with a great work ethic. Oh well, Im pretty sure that Ted Thompson knows more than I do about putting together a solid football team. The Packers have managed to stay more than competitive the last few years with a cadre of injuries that would decimate most teams. When you overpay for numerous free agents, you cant possibly build the depth needed to sustain in the face of unfortunate injuries to starters. Look at how many Packers backups are getting sucked up by other teams. Go Pack Go.

As a Falcons fan I was worried about him going to Green Bay, they would have been unstoppable with him. But I’m happy he’s a Falcon. Seattle, San Fran, Atlanta, and Green Bay are the best teams in the NFC, this is not up for debate.

2nd to the few crying Green bay fans suck it up. Your team has been a historical monument in the NFL. You guys are so spoiled that when a year or two goes by and things don’t go your way you start crying. Try being a Browns fan or Raiders or a Falcons fan post Matt Ryan era! I love the haters jumping on Ted Thompson but the fact remains, he has never overpaid for a FA in his entire career. Not once, never.

He probably had his price and if Steven Jackson was willing, then maybe. Putting a lot of money into a running back in the Green Bay offense is not a good use of money, especially when Rodgers, Matthews and Raji all need to be re-signed. That is the basis of a draft and develop strategy.

Steven Jackson has been broken for years, and is basically Brandon Jacobs more athletic double. He doesn’t run with power any more, and lacks a hard nosed attitude. We’re talking get slammed by Aaron Curry, and whine about it for weeks. He’ll miss at least 4 to 6 games, and Falcons still need to draft RB. Hawks1124 is a total
Knucklehead. Ask the Seahawks and 49ers about SJ39.
Good luck SL39. 49ers and Seahawks are still the superior teams, but once the playoffs start, who knows? Classy guy.

LOL at the fools that thought Ted Thompson would spend big money on a 30+ running back (the absolute worst position to have someone over 30). Have you not paid attention the last 7 years he’s been GM? LOL at “Packers” fans that are upset once again at Ted for not throwing money at an aging free agent and instead opting to save money for re-signing their own players. Did you not see how great that free agent spending was for the Eagles a couple years ago? Super Bowls are won through the draft. You draft well, you resign your best players, and stay young. Ted knows exactly what he’s doing and I commend him for it.

A Packer fan all of my life but it’s getting harder and harder to watch all other teams sign players to fit their need. Not Green Bay!! Ted Thompson is ruining any chance that we may have in being an elite team. We need a running game but once again Thompson position is “pay nothing and sign the cheapest player available”. Remember Marshon Lynch. I believe the Seahawks grab him for a middle round pick when Green Bay had a chance to get him. THOMPSON HAS TO GO otherwise there will be no free agents visiting Green Bay. Steven Jackson was a perfect fit for the Pack but …..thanks Ted!

For you Ted Thompson haters – you know, it is possible that the Packers and Falcons had similar offers, and Jackson simply preferred to play in Atlanta.

And I laugh at the comments of people calling Thompson and the Packers “cheap” when they are $20 million under the cap and will be able to extend the contracts of their core players instead of having to cut a bunch of guys like all these other teams have been doing.
