Secondly, there’s a segment of Steelers fans out there who believe that as long as the Steelers have Roethlisberger, all is well. Those people are in for a HUGE disappointment.
In all my years of following the Steelers, I’ve never seen this much purging over a two-year period.
It’s truly disheartening.

You never read my rant on my FB about Harrison LOL..I”m devasted about this release. Hell you might as well let Troy, Heath and Ben go if Harrison has to go….it IS a travesity..beyond that. The FO better know what they are doing..as far as the Ravens…cry that he’s such a dirty player but mouths water at the chance to pick him up….
Praying this does not happen and he comes back, Iwant him to retire a Steeler…..
Burress…I’m on the fence..Wallace needed to go but wish him luck with his $$$$. hope it was worth it.

Wrong. The Steelers do let go of talent. We just don’t do it arbitrarily. The current personnel managment weighs costs v. benefits and decides which players are worth keeping. Obviously Colbert/Khan and company have decided Cortez Allen and future draft picks can handle the corner load, so they were willing to let Keenan Lewis go to the Saints. I trust that decision because Colbert/Khan have a track record worth trusting. That doesn’t mean Lewis isn’t a valuable defensive back and that we wouldn’t all (including LeBeau, Colbert, and Khan) have preferred to keep him if we weren’t up against the cap. The Saints have picked up a fine player.

Lewis was very average. It took him three years to see the field. He was targeted so much is why he had so many pass defends. He is at best an okay #2.
