Good move, Bowman was excellent on ST last year and CB depth is a need. Even better if this was at league minimum. Also, I think Emery/Cliff Stein will restructure contracts as other deals fall into place. I don’t think they want to be one of those teams messing with players contracts and not following through with the plan. See: “Brady restructures, Pats lose Welker to Denver.” Not to mention it helps give them leverage while negotiationg that we are “tight against the cap”. GO BEARS!

$24 million??? Dude, you gotta do your research before talking stupid…Peppers’ cap hit, for each year of his contract, goes like this:

2010 – $14,783,000
2011 – $4,183,000
2012 – $12,183,000
2013 – $16,183,000
2014 – $17,183,000
2015 – $19,683,000

Now let’s contrast that with DeAngelo Hall, shall we?

2009 – $5,300,000
2010 – $19,700,000
2011 – $5,000,000
2012 – $6,500,000
2013 – $8,000,000 (voided due to release)
2014 – $8,500,000 (voided due to release)

In no way is Peppers’ contract such a flagrant manipulation of the uncapped year as Hall’s contract is, and I still don’t know where you came up with that $24m figure.
