Here is the bottom line to this trade, after all the posting……Benn came to the Eagles FREE. A better gamble than Atlantic City. I give him a 60/40 chance to make a contribution.

It really is sad how many ill informed haters comment on things they know nothing about. Did any of you ever ask yourself what am I bringing to the table while posting? I don’t know if Kelly will succeed in the NFL but I do know he is a brilliant football coach who has put together a fantastic staff. This trade for a former high 2nd round pick involved the Eagles swapping a 6th round pick and getting back a 7th rounder. In other words nothing.

Disappointed to see Benn go. He was raw coming out of college and didn’t benefit from tearing his ACL, trying to rehab that during the lockout and then dealing with a new coaching staff. Hopefully he catches on somewhere.

Nice kid who has potential, but he’s injury prone and has confidence issues. I hope it works out for him as he has good character, but with the signing of Ogletree, Benn was expendable.

Benn was drafted with a pick acquired from the Bears for Gaines Adams, the 4th overall pick in 2007. This means Tampa managed to turn the 4th overall pick plus a 7th into a 6th rounder.

Well, that was efficient drafting. I try to forget that Gaines Adams was drafted right after Megatron and Joe Thomas. I fail to forget that, but I try really, really hard to forget that.

not a bad acquisition for the iggles. he has some size, maybe change of scenery will serve him well. i like the direction Chip Kelly has gone since FA started…a bunch of low-risk signings to add solid depth. Big Red would have 20 undrafted FAs on his teams year in and year out…his poor drafting finally caught up with him after the long term mainstays that kept the team competitive washed up.
