APThe Cardinals are continuing to bring in reinforcements for their depleted secondary.
Antoine Cason, a cornerback who started all 16 games for the Chargers last season, has signed a one-year deal with the Cardinals, according to Kent Somers of the Arizona Republic. Cason is expected to get about $2 million, with incentive clauses that could make it more.
The signing of Cason comes two days after the Cardinals announced the additions of cornerback Jerraud Powers and safety Yeremiah Bell. So while the Cardinals’ secondary looked like Patrick Peterson and not much else at the start of free agency, Arizona is starting to build solid depth in the defensive backfield.
Cason, who had also drawn interest from the Browns and Lions, is No. 51 on our free agent Hot 100 list.

Seems like Arizona are making solid signings
Considering the terms of these contracts
Hopefully they add a couple lineman with the money opened up by Kolb
all he did in SD was give up TD passes. good luck cards
It’s a good sign that Steve Keim is making smart signings instead of carrying over the Rod Graves strategy. No need to overpay guys to play here. Use the Patriots and Steelers method of getting the RIGHT guy for the system. Sometimes a 2 million a year guy is just as good as the 10 million a year guy in the right system.
I’d hoped that the Lions would sign him.
Congrats Arizona, you got the only corner in the NFL that plays 20 yards off the receiver and still gets beat deep. Good luck with that Arizona, and good riddance to you Cason.
I love the SD haters not Cason’s fault SD sucked and with the great QB.
DN where are ya? Give me your take on AZ picking up Cason???
when the cardinals sign you to a one year contract, your not that good. happy to see him leave honestly. ask plaxico burress how cason’s coverage is…
