These teams are their own nemesis by signing Players who think that they are divas, guys such as Randy Moss, Terrell Owens, Chad Johnson, etc. they run their mouth to the adoring media, get shunned by QBs and the coaches and ultimately devalued by the team that drafted them and made them a name, then start all over again by some desperate team who will overpay him and get nothing for the contract.
Lets hope Jennings is not one of those divas.

LOL. I love all these Packers fans saying how bad Ponder sucks. What happened that last game vs Green Bay. You know the one where Green Bay couldve one and got the 2nd seed? Oh, yeah, Ponder threw for 274 yards 3TD and 0INTs. Yep, Ponder just sucks. Oh, and that was with NO worthwhile WR except Wright. So, if Ponder sucks, then what does it say about that Packers that he had such a good game, with no WR’s against your precious team?

mp4pack, you’re entitled to your own opinions. But you’re not entitled to your own facts regarding those of us complaining about bitter Packers fans. On this site and others, I have seen numerous Packers fans (not all, but many) who are bitter about this that they’ll find anything to knock Greg Jennings – even if it’s a lie. As I pointed out in a post last night, Jennings knew he wasn’t going to be back with the Packers and so did Coach Mike McCarthy and General Manager Ted Thompson. Jennings was looking for a new job opportunity elsewhere – something we all do when we’re either going to be fired or are looking for a change. So he made a business decision to sign on with another team. Jennings never dissed the Packers fans, Aaron Rodgers, and the organization as a whole (unlike Packers tight end Jermichael Finley). So why continue to defend and encourage the bitterness of fans?

Greg had become quite vocal about not wanting to play in the cold, and clearly didn’t appreciate how easily replaceable he was during his many trips to the bench with injuries. He’s a quality reciever but won’t overpower anyone or burn anyone deep, he can’t take over a game and is a borderline 1/2 at best who benefitted greatly from playing with 2 HOF quarterbacks. He isn’t worth that kind of coin, but as desperate as the Vikes were at the position I can understand why they gave it to him. I’m not bitter and I don’t wish him the best, I’m pretty indifferent. It seems there are far more people complaining about how bitter Packer fans are than there are actual bitter Packer fans.

He has not squandered one ounce of goodwill as far as I’m concerned. Jennings is nothing but class. He went where he got the best deal. I wish it had been somewhere else, but I feel not the slightest bit of animosity toward him. I hope he has a great season except for the two games against GB. And I’m grateful for the many great games he gave the Pack. Best of luck to him.

I don’t appreciate the insinuation that all packer fans are resentful of players who leave the team. Fact is, there are too many high profile players on the team to keep everyone. Jennings didn’t have the opportunity to return to the Packers at a fair deal, so why should we hold that against him? I won’t, and I don’t think most sensible pack fans would either. I wish him luck and all the best: this guy is a year removed from being considered among the best at the position.

Since the Vikings entered the league, their winning percentage is actually higher than the Packers. The Vikings problem has always been game day coaching. What separates the Packers titles from the Vikings non-titles are a total of about 20 points spread across 5 key games.

Other than that, these franchises are quite comparable.

And for any Packer fan who says it is tacky to poach someone else’s talent, I hope you were never a Charles Woodson fan.

Bottom line is this: Minnesota was in a lose/lose spot here. If they would have passed on Jennings, they would be called “cheap” and slammed for not bringing in a top WR. Now that they have done that, they took a “cast off” and someone Green Bay “didn’t want anyway.” Time will tell if the Vikings overpaid or not, but there can be no argument Jennings makes a significant impact and upgrade to a dismal receiver corps.

As a Packer fan and a Greg Jennings fan, i am glad he got paid. He had to do something at this point in his career. Green Bay offered him a 2 year deal, but what happens after that?

I hope Greg can catch some balls in Minny. He will definately have to get used to not having the ball thrown right onto hs fingertips. Pounder isn’t very accurate and Greg is a timing guy, real precise. He will have to retrain for that sloppy offensive scheme.
