Getty ImagesThe New York Giants are the only team Kenny Phillips has played for in his five-year NFL career. But Phillips is a Philadelphia Eagle now, and he knows what Philly fans want to hear.
That’s why, Phillips said, even though it will be difficult at first, he’ll learn to hate the Giants, as an Eagle should.
“It’s weird. It’s definitely weird. But at this point I can’t say I hate the Giants. When I was with the Giants I kind of disliked the Eagles. But I can’t just say right now I hate the Giants. I guess I’ll have to learn to hate them,” Phillips said.
Phillips has already learned to love Eagles coach Chip Kelly, whom Phillips said he’s excited to play for.
“Once I got here and just speaking to the coaching staff and speaking to Chip, I can honestly say I feel at home,” Phillips said. “The Giants is a great organization. But I’m really happy to be here right now just surrounded by some great people and great players. I never thought I’d be sitting here today as a Philadelphia Eagle.”
And Phillips never thought he’d hate the Giants. But he’s ready to learn.

I’ve been to a bunch of stadiums and I would have to say Giant fans are some of the least obnoxious. They’re actually kind of calm; probably one of the reasons they aren’t a good home team. And forget about it if it’s a Sunday or Monday night game, half the stadium will be filled with fans of the other team. I guess we get the rep since the team has won 2 SuperBowls recently. Ah well I’ll take the 2 rings and the bad rep.

The Giants fans & organization are more like the know-it-all moronic uncle who you have no choice but to interact with but gives you some good laughs & good times at an outing, but you don’t want him staying over your house & ultimately you just have to accept him as part of the extended family.

The real delight is how the only thing Eagles fans have to celebrate is a meaningless regular season game from 2010. That was the last game they won that season and the next two seasons were 8-8 and 4-12 gems. Meanwhile the Giants responded the next season by winning another Super Bowl.
