Then compare it to the cap friendly extension that Brady just agreed to and Flacco’s contract looks even worse.
-------------------------------------------

I hate to burst your terrible analysis bubble, but...

1) You are flat out incorrect: Joe Flacco's contract is more cap friendly this year than Tom Brady's. (Joe's cap number is $6.5, while Brady's is $8)

2) Your analysis contradicts itself. If Brady's contract was so friendly, why did the Patriots just watch Wes Welker walk (for less money than Boldin is making).

Better luck next time?

The biggest story, because they're the champs, is all of the guys that Baltimore is losing. Predictably, they overpaid Flacco and as a result had to trade Boldin, then watch as guys like Kruger and and Ellerbe go and of course Lewis and Birk retired. Reed will probably sign somewhere else do that's a lot of big name guys that Baltimore has lost.

But the other big story is obviously all of the moves that both San Fran and Seattle are making. Both of those teams realize that the NFC is theirs for the taking and they're both trying to do whatever they can to separate themselves from the rest of the pack like Atlanta, Green Bay, New Orleans, etc. It already feels like the NFC championship game is going to be San Fran vs. Seattle. The only question is going to be, who will have the home field?

Best signing is, at least at the moment, is Denver signing Welker, simply because that means he's not in New England any more. It's not so much that it helps Denver that much, because they won 13 games last year without him, but it's big it really hurts New England. Now Brady has to count on a guy in Amendola that hasn't been able to stay healthy so far in his career.

Worst move was Baltimore caving in and overpaying for Flacco. Flacco won't be able to carry this team like Peyton or Brady or Rodgers or Brees can carry their teams. It wouldn't be so bad if they hadn't lost so many important players but with Reed and Lewis and Boldin all gone it's going to put a lot of pressure on Flacco to carry this team and live up to that contract and I don't think he'll be able to do it. Then compare it to the cap friendly extension that Brady just agreed to and Flacco's contract looks even worse. Baltimore, right now, looks like a 7-9 team.
